Abdication of responsibility at UK level during the most recent weeks of this crisis. Devolved nations cannot adequately protect their populations. Borders & limited powers are the main constraints. Decisions (or lack of) in England affect all of the UK - really worried 🙁

"Lockdown" not a helpful term. Media need to stop using it. It creates fear. For people in custody, those experiencing domestic abuse & those shielding. Challenging months ahead, but we can adapt. It's temporary. Support (including financial) for those most affected will be key.

Husband used to complain about noise from the Tattoo 🙄 Now he's concerned that it's August & its not yet started. #Edinburgh folk love to grumble about @edfests @EdinburghTattoo but we are so lucky to have the Festivals back on our doorstep this year. Good luck to all involved❤️

What a time to be working in public health. It's not just about viruses. Almost everything in the news now is about public health. PH is about the wellbeing of whole populations. Spending more time these days speaking to young people who want to join us. We will need them 🤞
