There is no excuse for dehumanizing, displacing, starving, & murdering anyone. My Jewish ancestors fled extreme violence to survive—mostly to US. What Israel is doing is committing genocide against the Palestine people—with US funding.
There is no excuse for ignoring genocide.

The word “hero” also evokes bravery and superhuman strength but leaves little room for empathy, said one psychiatrist. When portrayed as stalwart saviors, health workers may feel pressured to avoid showing vulnerability.
A student told me they fell in love with surgery & that in the OR everything falls away, nothing else is important, you focus completely.
I recognize that feeling—the same one I get when I close the door, sit down & listen to a patient. Every word. Every gesture.
Sanctuary.

Instead, you chose complicity with the US gov funding & supplying Israel with bombs to murder Palestinian children, families & hundreds of our healthcare worker colleagues.

Yesterday, at a DC event on “the critical importance of supporting and safeguarding health workers,” USAID rep Dr. Atul Gawande struggled to respond when activists asked him to condemn the US-funded Israeli assault on Gaza, which has killed scores of health-workers.
