@PrinceHAK33M
Not sure that folks understand the repercussions of having these discussions, particularly in public. Pseudo celeb or not, it’s still a mess.
@Peachesxcr58541
Because it’s public money that is going to only Black women. The group is suing under the grounds the city shouldn’t be able to exclude women of other races because it’s a public program.
@MickeyFactz
Folks are obsessed with talking about LLCs. It’s not hard to figure out how to create one. Meanwhile, the core education one learns in high school is ignored, folks are unprepared for college or trade school, yet somehow think they’re prepared for entrepreneurship. Sad.
@Peachesxcr58541
I can’t really speak to the motivation. But they seem to be on firm legal footing considering it’s excluding people based on race/ethnicity. That said, the city is likely doing this to address the maternal mortality rate, which is 3-4x for black women. It’s a travesty.
@Frediculous
Mandatory tip makes sense, especially if it’s based on quantity of items and overall cost. Doing cost alone isn’t good because it could just be an expensive order that doesn’t require a heavy lift. I also think inclement weather should be taken into account.
@Frediculous
In organizations with a good culture it tends to even out. One of my best managers always said things ebb and flow and people have to be trusted to figure out how to balance their time.
@FiSurgi
Icahn said it awhile ago. Ackman is the kid that was bullied on the school yard. Never had the respect. Still walks around like that little boy. Sad.
@ShimminyKricket
Yes. That’s why it’s important for young folks to build relationships, have mentors and sponsors, and secure internships so they can learn how things work.
@EdwardJacksonD
Not sure how that tackles the biggest problem: most of these folks never want to leave office, and the power of incumbency is so large even ppl with poor records are easily re-elected.
@Frediculous
LMAO. People don’t delineate between school debt and consumer debt. To your point they’re often proud of consumer debt. Hustling backwards.
@hughart_michael
@SaycheeseDGTL
Read the article. The bill would require restaurants at rest stops to be open 7 days per week. Some Chic Fil As are located in rest stops.
@JustAFamilyMan_
It’s not. That being said, renting for 10 years probably isn’t a winning strategy either. So it’s important for people to understand the tradeoffs of either approach.
@Frediculous
I don’t think most longterm relationships can replicate every aspect of marriage. There is a commitment within the construct of marriage that is unique.
Agreed. And these kind of signals are used as proxies for intelligence, determination, work ethic, etc. Whether that’s right or wrong isn’t really the point. It’s about leveraging everything in your favor.
Prior to MIT, every tech job that I applied to either ghosted or rejected me.
After I was accepted to my program and updated my LinkedIn (mind you, haven’t even started classes yet), the same recruiters bombarded my inboxes.
The game sucks. But until it’s fixed, play it.
@ScottWamplerRIP
Seinfeld sent a statement to Rolling Stone: “This is so stupid. I remember this moment quite well… I teased Jimmy about a flub, and we all had a fun laugh about how rarely Jimmy is thrown off. It was not uncomfortable at all. Jimmy and I still occasionally recall it and laugh.
@coldestwinters
I’m just waiting for someone to comment: they should teach this in high school. Because folks tend to believe they don’t have access to information post-secondary school.
@UnstuckUrCareer
@buccocapital
Servant, Severance, Platonic, Tehran, Blackbird, Defending Jacob, The Morning Show, Trying, Silo, and For All Mankind to start.
@SawyerMerritt
@MP_InTheMoney
That’s absurd. Elon isn’t leaving Tesla should he not receive this package. And he should be more focused on reversing the value destruction that’s taken place as opposed to lining his pockets. Wake up, Sawyer.
@XaviercMiller
There are independent restaurants that are not considered fine dining. Chains are usually low quality and they’re also not a creative option. Just shows lack of thought.
@Frediculous
They don’t want to listen. They want to convince themselves their version of hustling is more effective than alternative paths that are obviously better.
@celly_speaks
Some employers are getting a little too comfortable with the leverage they now have in the job market. But it’ll switch like it always does. And those employers will struggle to fill roles.
@Frediculous
I don’t think a divorce equates to the culture she referenced. And you’re likely to see stronger co-parenting from divorced parents as opposed to that culture.
@pitdesi
They only admitted to this because the behavior was so concerning the federal government was considering ways to unearth the motivations, investors, and delve into the national security risks.
@Frediculous
Just absurd. No ambition, focus or determination. Just interested in watching life pass them by. Of course the trips and gifts didn’t make you happy. That’s not what life should revolve around.
@jaltma
Not sure why a candidate would tell you who else they’re interviewing with. Received offers from, sure. But interviewing with doesn’t give the candidate true leverage and gives you too much info.
@stoolpresidente
Apparently, Larry had the biggest story of the past 50 years and waited until Obama completed two terms and was retired for nearly a decade.
@flippedhatnupe
I’d say losing confidence in higher education was far worse. And that has often led to the desperation that drives interest the get rich quick schemes.
@ijbailey
And if students work exceptionally hard they deserve a fair review of their candidacy, not some pat on the back along with a pre-determined rejection. It’s entirely unfair and schools should be held accountable.
@FelipeBuccianti
@Hilbe
You’re misusing the term virtue signaling. It means someone who signals something but doesn’t back up their supposed principles. People who avoid Tesla for the reasons they state are standing true to who they are.
@Frediculous
That’s really interesting. Having both experiences to compare against with a willingness to be self-introspective is a powerful thought process.
