I’m a person who genuinely loves living alone & being home, but I’ve been struggling with loneliness this summer. My therapist told me a lot of people have felt that way during the pandemic because our living spaces are no longer retreats. I appreciated that insight.

#Asexuals are often told even by medical professionals that we’re not asexual, and we just think we are because of [fill in the blank with a mental illness, trauma, or side effect]. Guess what? You can be BOTH asexual and mentally ill, a survivor of trauma, or on medication.

I think another reason people reject asexuality is it means reckoning with their own sexuality and asking themselves if they felt sexual attraction or they felt obligation to pretend due to social or relationship circumstances and they aren’t emotionally equipped for that journey
