That Germany slipped into recession last year is often attributed to global crises. A new study comes to a different conclusion: without the record high level of sickness, the economy would have grown in 2023. On average, each employee had 20 sick days.

We had #Covid in March 20, no medical help, long covid, have been so careful since. Our son has been back to school for 3 days, confirmed cases there and close contact. His test just came back positive. I think the UK Covid approach is irresponsible & causes avoidable suffering.

@elisaperego78 So much for the silly herd immunity approach. This is a reinfection. I won't be able to forgive the UK government for abandoning all precautions in schools. It took 3 days. I feel so let down. My referral to #LongCovid clinic from February 21 also still outstanding. Very poor.

@UKHSA France has already evaluated before you even start and is starting its Covid vaccination campaign early, everyone who wants to be vaccinated will be. In the U.K. the JCVI said vaccinating folks under 65 is not “cost effective”. You are failing us.

UK: you must send your children to school, even if they are ill. Also UK: big measles outbreak UK: Children don't need a Covid booster & children are more likely to be hit by a bus than catch Covid. Also UK: over 200 children died of ('with') Covid, over 60000 with Long Covid.

#LongCovid 'could become a bigger health problem than excess deaths' Thank you @MetroUK for this. This is what #longcvoid patients have been saying for months. Most of us are young(ish) & without any underlying health conditions.

@CRobertson_LD So what's your plan then in supporting ill children rather than pretending they aren't ill?

@DavorJordacevic No it can't; it can perhaps predict a likelihood. Until someone actually does something, there is no crime. You don't have the be a lawyer to realise how slippery this slope is.

Just watched @hendrikstreeck 's comments about #covid and #longcovid . Summarized: mild cases don't seem to cause long term effects & in moderate/severe cases, long term effects are caused by ventilation. That's not what literature & our experience say.

My mother unexpectedly died on this day last year, shortly after her birthday and much too young. I miss her every day. I will be listening to some of her favourite Brahms and Bruckner recordings today (and maybe some Brubeck) thinking of her with much love and gratitude.💕🕯️

Laß warm und hell die Kerzen heute flammen, die du in unsre Dunkelheit gebracht, führ, wenn es sein kann, wieder uns zusammen. Wir wissen es, dein Licht scheint in der Nacht.
