The new Apopka High football coach is a very familiar face to Blue Darter players and fans as former defensive coordinator Jeff Rolson has been named the new head football coach for AHS. Rolson was named late Thursday afternoon and a story is in today's Apopka Chief.

@DarenStoltzfus I didn't like the TO but Mertz did not take a knee until rolling out to the right and he was hit on the way down to the ground after the defender had already committed to tackling the guy with the ball, which happens to be the object of defense. Why didn't he just take a knee?

@BernieSanders It's all free until somebody has to pay for it! Are those daycare workers going to work for nothing? No, so somebody (taxpayers) have to pay for it. Just like if student loan debt were to be "canceled." It wouldn't be canceled, it would be transferred to taxpayers.

Y’all, my wife and I are so happy that our daughter Kristin and her husband Austin are expecting a little girl in July! We love Austin very much EXCEPT for the obvious reason. All my #VFL friends can be assured that our granddaughter will be raised as a #VFL from the beginning!

Huge night for @WekivaFootball and @ApopkaFootball as both crush opponents in first round playoff games. Wekiva whipped Lake Mary 52-0 while Apopka downed Seminole 54-21. Wekiva will host Boone next Friday and Apopka will travel to Winter Park.
