What struck me when I visited last year about Paris’s bike network was the urgency and practicality of its expansion. They seem to be closing network gaps as fast as possible by the least expensive, reasonably safe means. The effect is impressive.

This map hints at why people who ride a bike for utility laugh at anyone who says “we should forget about x bike lane and invest in Ballona Creek.” People need to go where they need to go, plus even if the creek path serves their needs, they want to get there safely.

The schedules for the Regional Connector lines (A and E) have been released. Frequencies of 10 minute peak, 12 minute midday and 20 minute early morning/late night. Budget says they aim to eventually phase into standardized 8m peak and 10m off-peak headways.

@mnolangray @mottsmith Residential parking permits are a mostly unacknowledged and rarely itemized cost center. I’ve never seen *a single one* that priced the permit, even with fine revenue, anywhere near the cost of the program. Just a massive subsidy for people already enjoying lavish subsidies.
