Just read a letter from a surgeon I visited in Aug 2017, in which I was described as "unfortunate" & that surgery was not an option as my #cancer was too far advanced. I had that surgery in March 2018, am very much still alive & living life to the full 👊 #CarpeDiem #LifeGoesOn

My emergency medical card was reinstated without prejudice & with an apology HOWEVER Cards now limited to 6 mths, reviewed after 3 & you must be receiving end of life care (6-12 mths life remaining) HOW DARE THEY define how "terminal" a #cancer patient is Incurable is incurable.

I saw my Dad yesterday for the first time since lockdown began. He's a damn good man whom I've enormous respect for. He's also a retired Guard from Charlestown & the last few days have been difficult for him also. Happy #FathersDay Dad, My world's a better one with you in it ❤️

. @Paschald , this salary top-up would provide the equivalent of 13 @HSELive Terminal Illness Medical Card's. I'm a dying man that has had to fight at every juncture for something so basic. You're damn right I'm annoyed & angry. Wouldn't you be?

Too many rumours flying around that the next NPHET advice will include more lockdowns. Government leadership is lacking at present, with little faith in it's management of the #COVID19 pandemic. It's approach should be far more proactive & far less reactive.

Just back from an overnight in @ULHospitals . A touch of pneumonia I'm told. Gotta say, nurses need a level of patience like no other. Christ they have to put up with some crap. Lack of respect from some patients was astounding.

Became aware earlier of a stalled medical card application, because @HSELive has queried 2 cent worth of expenditure. I am fuming. Despite having both Oesophageal & Lung #Cancer , this man now has to waste precious time & energy dealing with this. We're better than this surely.
