Thanks to PC Dinsmore, a special mast and flag was created and installed on Ladder 35. The mast has been engraved with the names of our line of duty deaths; Michael Klein, Randy Tureski and Nicholas Webb so that they will continue to be remembered by WFES and the community.

On Feb 6th, off duty Captain Ed Powell attended the Durham RoadRunners game. When a staff member went VSA, Firefighter Powell performed CPR and used a defibrillator before emergency services arrived. The patient is expected to make a full recovery. Great job Captain Ed Powell!

WFES responded to a residential alarm and found a buried hydrant. Luckily it was a false alarm, if this was a confirmed fire, crews would have been delayed in finding the hydrant, trying to dig it out and hooking up. Make sure your hydrants are accessible and not covered in snow!

Thank you to Whitby’s 55+ Quilting Volunteer Group for sewing Whitby Fire patches onto our LORA dogs. These stuffed animals provided by @Epilepsy_Durham , to help promote their new epilepsy treatment center, will be handed out to children as comfort toys during emergencies.

Thank you to Whitby resident John McEachern who built and donated a No8 Hose Station Replica Lego set. The original No8 Hose Station was built in 1875 and is located at 132 Bellevue Avenue, Toronto. The set will be showcased in the museum at @WhitbyFire 's Hall 5 for all to see.

Firefighters honed their structure fire skills with hands-on training in an acquired structure prior to demolition. Training covered essential aspects like search & rescue, ventilation & extinguishment. WFES is grateful to the property owner for allowing us to elevate our skills.
