This is far from the best use of technology and innovation. We should be investing in projects that provide alternatives to driving. A highway full of electric cars is still a highway full of cars. A project like QueensLink provides north-south transit without adding traffic.

Adding lanes to Van Wick would only add car traffic. The QueensLink runs between Woodhaven Blvd and the Van Wyck and would provide a faster ride to the AirTrain at Howard Beach. Only mass transit can take cars off the road, negating the "need" to expand highways.
