I condemn hate crimes of any form - against Hindus or Muslims, in Richmond Hill or New Mexico. I am relieved to learn that police have detained a man for the murder of 4 Muslim Americans, all South Asian, in a possible spree of hate crimes. I stand with NM's Muslim community.
Today I spoke on the floor for Black History Month:
“We are living history together and have the power to shape our world...
We can create a future where we look beyond the surface and see people for who they really are… as we build upon past struggle to shape our future.”
