I'm a Rajput. We sacrifice goats on the Ashtami of second Navaratri. All of us share and eat it as a holy offering/sacrament. Hinduism ≠ vegetarianism. That's Jainism. Hinduism has 128 sects, spread across vast geography. Each has its own discipline. We need to respect them.

@PopulismUpdates @USA_Polling India's high number for the military rule doesn't mean support for a coup. The military is seen as sacrosanct because of their virtues (absolutely secular, professional force). People are emotional about it as they've grown up hearing stories of it's sacrifices.

We all demand, agitate and even get sidewalks in Indian cities but again they're utilised as just a better place for parking cars. What we need are multi-level parkings. Given the pressure of population and unplanned settlements, they're as abundantly needed as public washrooms.

As a Kakan (Kaikeya) from North-west Ghazipur, it fell under Magadha at that time. But as you can see, it's not Rajput settlement but Rajput colonization map so my ancestors were somewhere in Pakistani Punjab, near Sakal (Sialkot) at the time.

@sialmirzagoraya They're Saraswats. Traditionally martial. Even in old texts, they're known for little interest in traditional roles. Always to be employed in administration.

@americakaran Hell no. It's the only step that has prevented us from being Pakistan. You can see every year civil servants trading their soul for the green card of the USA for their children. Imagine if India had dual citizenship.

@KGhorpade @Advaidism The issue here is him claiming their alleged betrayal when India wasn't a united political entity. Same commies at other places apply different metrics for different people.

A similar scene was depicted in the Godfather (1972). Sung by Mamma Corleone and an Italian old man singing "Luna mezz'o mare.." in the wedding.

No questions could be raised, of course. Good luck to Indian defence. Why do I feel that army high echelons are being manned with political equations in mind.

Arun Yogiraj is a below competent sculptor whose art lacks any naturalism. A cubist painting of MF Hussain in the sanctum would've served better than deifying his kitsch which will only reflect poorly on Hinduism, disrespects the deity himself.

Born Hindu ⬇️ Had a very religious and practising, ritualistic, upper middle class childhood. Christmas and Eid were also celebrated in family. ⬇️ Grew skeptic of religion, almost atheist (with RSS background, khatra-pilled "Hindu"). ⬇️ Read a lot Gita Press literature. Liked it.

Eid Mubarak, Everyone. (Sent it to half a dozen contacts yesterday after receiving from a Kashmiri friend. Got the late night wisdom that the moon hasn't been sighted yet in the rest of India - except Kashmir and Kerala - and Indian Eid is usually a day after Pak.)
