THE WAY FORWARD FOR THE LEFT
I did this in Aug 2021 so have updated it to reflect recent changes;
1 The 15/20 Socialist Labour MPs should resign from Labour en masse with as much publicity as possible in response to Starmerโs latest provocation
2 All should form new party
@bethdanger
Iโd say the skill by which she has used every loophole available to hide her enormous wealth from taxation and thus avoid giving a small portion of the money she will never need to people in desperate deprivation and poverty.
Thank you for your service maโam.
@KayBurley
Not really Kay, he answered your provocative questioning calmly and reasonably.
Why do you try to demonise unions as thugs, they are just ordinary people?
@JeremyVineOn5
@MichaelTakeMP
@theJeremyVine
You got deceived by an obvious parody account
People laughed and mocked you
You tried to claim you knew all along and what it shows is public anger!
Child.
Listening to Question Time I wonder when I missed the General Election that Labour won? Every question asked scrutinises Corbyn and Labour & not the Govt, Dimbleby has all his Corbyn quotes lined up. When did we stop holding Govt to account?
#bbcqt
Corbyn Stalinist? Yet its Tories that control MSM
Labour financially incompetent? Yet Tories have tripled debt to ยฃTns
Labour uncosted spends? Yet Tories who provide none
Corbyn weak leader? Yet its Johnson lost every vote
Corbyn enemy of state? Yet Tories Russian funded.
MISSING - has anyone seen..
Jacob Rees Mogg
Mark Francois
Any opinion polls from Friday debates that Corbyn won by miles
Priti Patel video where she blames poverty on poor
Any coverage of Bolton blaze & mention of cladding
Any valid excuse from BBC on doctoring Johnson coverage
@GodlessLiz
Hell yes, I live in the UK and the American desire to own and use military grade weapons and prioritise these over the lives of children is utterly bizarre
@MrBrendanCox
In your facile analogy, Corbyn would be the waiter not the diner.
He would help to facilitate your choice by pointing out the benefits of each meal.
However, once armed with the full facts, the choice would be yours and the waiter will serve it to you.
Wasnโt it said a while ago that Labours manifesto in December would cost ยฃ80bn & that this would totally bankrupt UK?
Tories waste billions in vanity projects & announce ยฃ100bn โmoonshotโ baloney & press donโt bat an eyelid
Any danger in public waking up to this manipulation?
@trussliz
@MailOnline
The people on strike ARE hard working people, all gainfully employed, all earning wages that have lost any semblance of pace with inflation over last decade
While business owners (AKA your supporters and sponsors) have creamed off huge dividends & profits from their labour
@BillyMeredithMU
@theJeremyVine
Iโm a cyclist and this is clearly the cyclists fault
I would never try to sneak past an emergency vehicle, sirens or not
@Peston
It's not tearing itself apart though is it, the media are trying to do it. Look to your own industry Robert. Robinson& 'free speech champion' has been used in the media today & the question 'has he got a point?' while Corbyn is branded as an anti-semite. It's frankly Orwellian.
THE WAY FORWARD FOR THE LEFT -
1 The 40 or so Socialist Labour MPs in Parliament should resign from the party en masse with as much fanfare and publicity as possible
2 All 40 should remain as MPs and form a new party
3 The new party should be called Real Labour
@MarkReckless
@PickardJE
Sure because the cost of the building is the important part of the point being made here.
Its highlighting responsible leadership.
Grow up.
Has anyone heard any reporting at all on mainstream news about Michelle Mone?
A Tory Peer has essentially fled the country because of tens of millions of pounds of PPE money
And our media is silent
Iโve seen a deluge of criticism of Owen Jones on here over the last 24 hours
You know what I havenโt seen once?
An article that actually addresses the points he makes
As usual itโs ad hominem stuff all the way.
All feels very 1997 again doesnโt it?
A deeply unpopular Tory Party riddled with sleaze & corruption out of ideas & just waiting to be put out itโs misery
A refreshed Labour Party waiting to take over in Govt, pretending to be an alternative but in reality being Tories
@GMB
I seem to recall Patel saying it was OK for England fans to boo players for taking the knee if they didn't agree with it, on the grounds of freedom of expression
Does freedom of expression and cancel culture only apply when you don't like it?
@trussliz
@Daily_Express
The trade unions are โusโ and when you say โourโ who exactly do you mean?
Itโs clear that you do not represent the interests of us the people, you represent the needs of big business to exploit us and enjoy the ever increasing profits.
@KeejayOV2
@graham_budden
Iโve only seen about 5 minutes of this horrendous show.
The lack of basic understanding of the general public is truly astonishing.
No wonder the Tories keep getting in.
This media is something else.
The very first time I've heard anyone on MSM query 'where the money is coming from' for the COVID measures is astonishingly asked now on Radio 5 - to a Labour MP! (Barry Gardiner)
Then she criticises him for criticising the Govts Govts approach.
My word, Johnson, JRM, Javid, Cummings. They really are terrible politicians aren't they? They all look like rabbits in headlights, not got a clue, poor communicators, poor strategists, wholly incompetent. Is it just me, is everyone else seeing this?
@upsadaizy
@socialistMike
@Peston
Indeed. But even scarier than an average Kafka. The media obsess over 10 year old anti-racism meetings while Robinson garners support from Bannon, who meets JRM, BJ, Farage. Fascism getting organised & the media seems complicit.
This is absolutely correct - Labourโs 2017 & 19 manifestos are often labelled as extreme by MSM
In most other European countries, they wouldnโt be classed even as left wing
This is what decades of Sun & Daily Mail have given us
@Keir_Starmer
Youโve turned it back into a party funded by big business and private interests, there to do their bidding.
The same old approach of running a country in the interests of a corrupt ruling class against working people
And you continually attack Corbyn because he threatened this
@bbclaurak
This is just becoming ridiculous.
Tory candidate is suspended for alleged anti-semitism so you link to an article about Labour!?
If this was a Labour candidate would you have just said 'Labour candidate suspended'
Do your job. This is outrageous.
On a day when Labour whip in the Lords to abstain against free school meals, and 2 Labour councillors are suspended in Scotland for refusing to do a deal with Toriesโฆ.
โฆ.I get called a Tory enabler for being critical of it!
Liberal Democrat on R5.
Pienaar - if in a position to do so at end of GE would you insist on removal of Corbyn?
A - Yes
Pienaar - likewise for Johnson?
A - I am working for a Swinson Govt blah blah
Further confirmation, LD are not running an anti-Brexit GE, its anti-Corbyn.
@imranmahmood777
The whole principle of billionaires and millionaires is wholly immoral.
Stockpiling cash and wealth that theyโll never need and thereby denying it to those who do.
The whole basis of our society needs to change
Genuine question.
Iโve heard and seen so many examples from the GE that people voting Tory voted that way because they were fed up with austerity, cuts etc.
Did a significant number of people in our country think Labour have been in power over the last 10 years?!?
@wesstreeting
I rather think the first lesson is pretty obvious Wes;
Dont spend 4 years trying to sabatoge your own parties chances of winning.
Kind of obvious really, isnโt it?
@thesundaytimes
Iโll save you the tortuous analysisโฆ
Every EU country has experienced Covid but only one has experienced Brexit (not even fully implemented yet)
And thatโs the only one experiencing acute shortages and fuel queues.
The end, itโs Brexit.
@GNev2
The worst, most sinister aspect is actions of Met
Refusing to investigate thro lack of evidence when it was there in abundance all along, only investigating when forced to & doing so just at time when it allows Gray report to be redacted
Collusion of police & state is fascism
@MarinaPurkiss
Thereโs one on Radio 5 now
A guy has just told her UK is billions of pounds in debt &Tories have wasted most of it
Her response is โyes but Labour would have been worse & Boris has done his best.โ
These people are the reasons why we keep getting utterly dismal election results
@tomhunt1988
Iโm not religious in any way
But if an Archbishop canโt speak out on a policy that completely contravenes supposed Christian values on Easter Sunday, when can he?
@iK4VEMAN
@terrychristian
Lives in Spain, has an Irish passport to get round Brexit and just comes over here every time he wants to top up his coffers
Heโs a grifter.
Another car crash from Lisa Nandy on GMTV
She says, โIt shouldnโt take a footballer(Rashford) to shame Govt & provide free school mealsโ (No exactly Lisa, it should have been you!)
....and also uses the Tory nonsense phrase, โbuild back betterโ
Zero ideas & platitudes
Is it really too much to ask for us to have a Labour leader who could say the things that Mick Lynch is saying right now?
How brilliant would it be to have a Labour leader arguing with such clarity on behalf of workers and against the rigged economy?
@MatthewStadlen
Itโs really not that complex
You & many others in the media spent 5 years on a vitrolic black ops campaign against Labour because when push came to shove, you didnโt want real change at all, you just like to pretend you do
You chose May & you chose Johnson
This is the result
@mrjamesob
@afneil
@BorisJohnson
I hope millions of citizens across UK feel rising sense of indignation at Tory tactics in avoiding any democratic scrutiny
Say what you like about interviews with Sturgeon & Corbyn, at least they were there
Johnson is trying to hide his way into power, please donโt let him
@afneil
@Nadjdaniela
If UK voters have any sense of fair play they will not vote for Johnson if he refuses to go on your show
What possible justification can there be for a sitting PM to avoid scrutiny during a GE?
And what does it say about character of a man who shies away from it so deviously?
@BBCPolitics
So his argument is he won't provide taxpayer's money to give wage increases to UK workers (who are of course also taxpayers)
But he will give it to (foreign owned) rail operators to insulate them from the effects of the strike, strike lasts longer?
Someone make it make sense?
@AllisonPearson
Not sure why you are using this to further stir up division and conflict?
Most of the unpleasantness I have seen on here is from Daily Mail cultists who are determined to make this an opportunity to express their hatred of Meghan
@jennawray__
Thatโs very reason; he is honest & principled, he shines a light on how politicians should be
Most of all, he wanted change to benefit people & that threatens cozy establishment club of Tory/Labour politicians who do not want to change, they just want a turn at the gravy train
@SkyNews
I wondered how long it would be before Tories and their press tried to change the narrative to blaming the public for โnot working hard enoughโ.
@Michelle4Labour
@danbloom1
More like โhauntedโ
Promoted way beyond his ability to a job he knows he is woefully inadequate for - he absolutely knows this, itโs written across his face.
@GMB
@richardm56
Why is it you always antagonistically ask RMT why they are inconveniencing people, when it was was discovered at select committee this week that Govt are sabotaging talks?
Govt donโt want to appear weak so are deliberately scuppering talks and working to turn public opinion
@lewis_goodall
3 months ago free broadband and moderate socialist policies would bankrupt the country
Now they are deemed sensible.
Such is the moral bankruptcy of the media propaganda.
@vicderbyshire
@BBCNews
Capitalism and Tories in general, are returning our way of life to Victorian England, neither have any answers apart from waving Union Jacks & blaming immigration
Food and fuel and utilities in general, should be basic necessities not market tools to increase shareholder profit
@bbclaurak
Amazing that you have practically followed Johnsons every move for two years and yet seemed to have completely missed all of these partiesโฆ?
Keir Starmer - leader of the Labour Party
Jeremy Corbyn- leader of the Labour movement
Like, retweet & follow each other back - and happy
#SocialistSunday
This is how it works
We have a Govt that has destroyed the entire fabric of our country over last 12 years
Yet because of Daily Mail & other right wing propagandists, who is it that is focus of public wrath?
Meghan Markle
Greta Thunberg
Alex Scott
Naga Munchetty
The left is being marginalised from the mainstream again so we need to stay connected
Retweet, follow each other & increase our connectedness
Anyone who needs helping hand reply below
#SocialistSunday
@LeeAndersonMP_
An economics lesson for you Lee
Previously you were 30p Lee
After 3.9% inflation you are now 31.17p Lee
Should anyone for any bizarre reason want to buy you, your price has still gone UP
Its not good news, itโs bad, just not quite as bad as it was last time.
@JeffStelling
@matthewsyed
@GaryLineker
Quite ironic that the outcry against Lineker comparing Govt policy to 1930s Germany has sought to suppress criticism of Govtโฆjust like they did in 30s Germanyโฆ
Makes his point for him really.
4 Seek new members for new party immediately. The 900k or so previous/recently left/current Labour members will join as will a lot of new voters from green/youth
5 Use membership to elect leadership team & agree new party structures including huge ground game campaigning team
@christopherhope
@Telegraph
Or in other words, millions of pounds of money that could be used in the fight against poverty and chronic under funding of public services is being used for government propaganda...
@Archimbaldo
@Schopen
Because most of the journalists who should be reporting it probably attended the party.
People sometimes criticise people as โconspiracy theoristsโ for citing โthe eatablishmentโ but, you can see it right here.
It was one of many things Corbyn threatened
So refreshing to see someone from BBC actually tell the truth about Corbyn.
The presenter at the end amusing, she didn't seem to know how to process this rare glimpse of reality.
@_HenryBolton
The stage is yours Henry, please feel free to share these many positive Brexit news stories, we wont cancel them, you can complete them all below, just the main onesโฆ.

@jeremycorbyn
@afneil
It didnโt go particularly well but nor did Sturgeonโs.
The format and the hectoring from Neill makes it impossible for an interview to go well.
Itโs a poor format, doesnโt give any insight into the people or their policies.
@thisisjoeob
So, just to be clear, this was a protest to end a lockdown that is already ending and in so doing, caused the closure of a shopping centre that would otherwise have been open?
Hmmm.
@Helen_pea007
Iโm from Liverpool, Iโm an LFC fan, I voted remain, I support Corbyn and Labour. Our City knows more than most why we need socialist policies that will work for the poor, the vulnerable & the people. Weโre tired of neoliberal greed and vested interests. Jeremy IS our spokesman.
12 Emphasise ethical foreign policy and an end to cultural imperialism.
13 Fight an election across country as a United and committed socialist Labour Party no longer afraid to be a radical, socialist voice for change & no longer shackled by cuckoos who pretend to be socialists
9 Use the 2019 manifesto as a starting point but be bolder on Green New Deal that sets example to the world. Ensure EVERY policy is consistent and supportive of GND
10 Starting point of manifesto is to measure success of country by health & happiness of people not by monetarism
@jeremycorbyn
Itโs a difficult choice between individual Liberty and collective responsibility
As a socialist I choose collective responsibility so I dont agree, sorry.
I wonder what percentage of the population laugh along at Clarkson and Morgan et al while considering Corbyn to be a racist/extremist
What a country we live in!
Feels like our entire society has been radicalised by the Daily Mail.
Has anyone heard ONE SINGLE reporter or news outlet report any of the following aspects of the EHRC report?
That Labour was not instutionally AS?
That the parties handling of AS improved under Corbyn & Formby?
11 Have a central manifesto commitment to Democratic reform - PR, elected HoL, online voting, reduce voting age, reform of expenses rule, no second jobs, lobbying or vested interests allowed.
Letโs actually โdrain the swampโ for real and restore Democratic power to the people
This. Is. Huge. Massive crowd and spine-tingling reception for Corbyn in Bristol has to be seen to be believed and will terrify Boris Johnson.
For more, see
6 Create active community centres that will encourage volunteers to work together to improve communities. Think of initiatives Marcus Rashford & others have done but do this in a National campaign across UK, involving any celebs who want to help. Show public what can be done!
@MattTurner4L
@frdragonspouse
Iโd forgotten about this
The worst example of this is when Corbyn presented documents on NHS privatisation & over the next 4/5 days, media scrum focussed entirely on where he got the docs (which were freely available in public domain) NOT on what the documents actually said
