The Catholic Church, because of a worldwide sexual abuse pandemic, is facing its biggest crisis since the Reformation. But many Catholic journalists and propagandists are in Ireland and elsewhere tweeting and reporting on how wonderful everything is. Hello!!!

Beneath the volleys in our "civil war" over the scandals lurk rival ecclesiologies. It is right to suspect that the hope conveyed in this article drives not a few in that debate, a hope that has little semblance to what Christ proclaimed and established.
