One thing I want to highlight about MTG ELO project is how many high-rating players there are who I've never heard of and seemingly have never played in a PT. Skill game but don't judge a player by their visibility. Ex:

@cervixpiercer Have agreed with you on everything else but I think this is a miss. Cis men are, generally, more dangerous, the issue is you just can’t detect or police gender in an effective, non-transmisogynistic way. Protecting ourselves from abuse will keep out many cis men and *that*’s fine

@AntonHand Just to give a counterexample to adjust expectations a bit - I have unexplained chronic pain, have been doing a pretty similar exercise routine to this for 3 years now, it’s been great for my health and mobility, and still have debilitating pain. Happy for you (genuinely!)

I think optimal is just straight up a myth here. Optimal for what? A specific tournament? Might be possible if you got decklist info ahead of time but the marginal advantage of archetype selection and gameplay is orders of magnitude above the 75th card IMO

Dear pro players: How do you go about creating the optimal decklist? I've had lots of recent success with green in pioneer. (13 challenge top eights 4 wins in 40 days). I've done well with many different configs and I'm unsure how to definitively say a build is optimal.
