Masturbating with CleanCode and ModernC++ doesn't get you correctness or robustness. Code that's actually readable and maintainable does. Simpler code does that. As a bonus, it runs faster, so you can fuzz & integration test even more, saving even more lives and bank accounts.

Every laptop I've used for several years, the screen gets scratched by the keyboard (this one is absurdly scuffed after just 6 months), because they just can't bear to have a millimeter of space in there. (Insult to the injury of the keyboard being awful just so it's flat).

I don't know about anyone else, but when I switch to 10x, I subconsciously relax and start typing faster. There's no obvious reason for this, but I think it's something to do with the feeling that the software "is on my side" and isn't going to interrupt me by stalling.
