You owe people. You owe people in your life respect, communication, kindness, reciprocity etc. This highly individualistic philosophy we preach of being mean isn't it.
I strongly believe that
@WilliamsRuto
is the right President at the right time. As I've previously mentioned, he's remained committed to his manifesto, working to fulfill his promises. While he might have underestimated the depth of our challenges, leading to ambitious pledges,…
Sounds more of:
1. Son(s) used mum's name in their illegal business
2. Mum realizes and tries to clean the mess
3. Dubai company refuses staggered refund offered by Registrar
4. Mum now implicated in a scandal she probably knew nothing about
Insomnia strikes, I find myself on Twitter, bumps into this tweet, and here we are now 😅
It has been a min before I used `itertools.permutations` and this was a good excuse.
My answer = 17, 558, 424 cars
Complexity of Permutations = O(n^r), when n = length, r = group size
As someone who has spent the last 2 years conducting technical interviews for mid-level and senior engineers, I can tell you that there is no bullshitting your way thru a tech career. It catches up with you, sometimes when you need it to work the most.
The Civil Service should be an independent arm of government. Experienced professionals taking directives from political appointees with no domain knowledge is a flawed system and a waste of skills.
I've been avoiding this debate, but Elon's recsys ensures it keeps popping on my TL. Nway, it is such hot takes that made me get into tech interviewing. Because when such falsehoods are adopted in hiring, you are bound to end up with gatekeeping and bad hires...(1/3)

I'll tell the Moringa and ALX grads this for free... even ShangTao was this noisy but where are they now?
If I have a CS graduate and Moringa xxx (not sure what to call them) with same skill-set; I am definitely picking CS
You cant get D+ then go to alx then come argue with CS
We made ICT Manager positions in govt the birth right of 'watoto wa wakubwa' just cz 'Brian anajua mambo ya kompyuta'. Their major role is tendering out even the basic of IT services to daddy's friends. Now let's act surprised our ICT infra is so easy to compromise 🚮
@palesa_saya
That is why I noted 'people in your life'. If someone is in your life, you have chosen to have them around. And for those you choose to cutoff, you can cutoff mean and ugly souls without becoming one yourself.
Heartbreak ya Gema dragons is bad bad.
Mtu ako na the love of her life na uko hapo like, 'Let me know if you need me.'
Catch me dead with girlies from the mountains.
😂😂😭😭
Raising a glass to all the techies that graduated this week (KCA, Moringa, etc). May your path be clear, may your dreams be true. Go for whatever you want!!! Welcome to the industry
There was a time my biggest flex was knowing this password offhead.....unaenda kuwekea client windows alafu anaona ukitype 25 characters without referring anywhere, atakuita Bill Gates 😅

Really cool. But I'd like to know how the handwritten text is extracted i.e.
1. It is human and hence the application needs to be trained how to read it
2. Since the human entries are not always on the same point/dimension in the paper, how does the model account for this?
As a CS grad, you realize there are skills they never taught you in college and now you have to buy courses in Udemy or even go to a bootcamp.
So if you think being a CS grad or self taught makes you a better dev, you are in for a shocker my friend. (4/4)
@Elainesoya
Do we have a constitutional provision for disowning an MP? Like those ads they put in newspapers..."this MP doesn't represent the views of the Kenyan populace. Transact with him at your own risk"

One day you are a young boy laughing at the white hair on your father's head, the next you are the father with the white hair 😄. Grateful for another trip round the sun.
Good news, someone just cleared the whole year's school fees 👏👏👏. Whoever you are, God akubless tu sana.
Now only approx 14k left for shopping, books, uniform etc. Let's make it happen

President William Ruto: In the next 90 days, we must have a Digital ID. Huduma Number was a complete fraud because we lost almost 15 billion shillings and got very little out of it. It is possible for us to have a Digital ID without spending 15 billion and without defrauding the…

Like someone said the other day on TV, "We've too much tree planting, very little of tree growing." How about each form 1 student plants a tree and then nurtures it for the 4 years? This way we can be assured of at least 800,000+ trees p.a. that actually outlive the National Day
A position most seem not to understand:
1. WSR is P.O.R.K.
2. Cost of living is soaring & govt seems to be giving a middle finger to the masses
3. There is no path for RAO to be president outside constitutional process
4. Police are using excessive force
Kenyans can't keep voting incompetence and complain when such videos surface online. Watch that video, and realize that bad leaders and tribal voting has a human cost 💔. Call out the relevant institutions and remind them of their duty to Kenyans.
NB: Permutations is an overkill, unless you want to know possible combinations and not just their count.
Below is how I'd probably do it in an interview, as it has less complexity.

You interview a self taught dev and they are so brilliant, and then the next fails in basic areas.
2. You work as a dev long enough, you realize as a self taught, you'll need to learn some CS concepts to succeed... (3/4)
@moseskemibaro
Interesting scenario. But like you said, generative AI doesn't offer an assurance of originality. Unless a company builds on top of an existing model, it cannot expect 100% originality (and even then similarity may still be evident).
This 👇 summarizes it perfectly.
I wasn't paid to say this: Having interviewed multiple people for entry level dev positions,
@alx_africa
produces the most knowledgeable lot of all local bootcamps. Show me a bootcamp that produces a better batch, I'll wait.
I am uniquely positioned to comment on this debate from 2 worlds: as a technical screener and as an engineer.
1. Candidate's competencies are very unique to them i.e. You interview a CS grad, they fail simple concepts. Next, you have a graduate and they impress so much... (2/4)
@THEJERE
The Kenyan Dream is get connections, be awarded tenders at inflated costs, have politicians and govt employees in your pocket, then post on social media how God has done it for you.
Thanks to everyone who attended my session on ETLs at

Timed both codes using `timeit.default_timer` to get CPU time for both implementations. The Permutations route is approx 7 - 8 times slower eg 0.000144 vs 0.000017, 0.00015 vs 0.00002 (time in seconds)
Ps: Stopping now before this becomes a rabbit hole
Y'all are always wrong in supporting that lady who posts pipeline pictures and tagging Sakaja. If she was willing to help those people, angekuwa ashaanza kusafisha akiongoja Sakaja akuje afanye kazi yake. So ni attention huwa anatafuta na izo picha
It looks like a JUNKYARD, but these are millions worth of county vehicles rotting in Thika bought using taxpayers' hard-earned money. Including a fire engine!
In Software Engineering we don't say,"I love you" we say ,"I found this repo that reminded me of the issue you had and thought it would help". and I think it's beautiful. 😂
By the time all this GDG hullabaloo is over, will we still have a community? NB community means calling out even your friends, but in truth and kindness. We ALL can do better aki 😞
Unaunda website, kidogo kidogo client anauliza mbona haikai Facebook ama site fulani ya majuu. Hapo unarealize that building world class products ni lazma kama ibada kwa hii industry. Tomorrow,

Dear Edwin, Lorna is gone. You had a great life together. Built both wonderful and painful memories. We miss her too but life goes on. Your life must go on. I am sorry to say, you can't be her husband and she can't be your love anymore. It's okay and am sure she understands.
Machine readable? Facial recognition? Unless Kenya ni Nairobi tu. Our leaders will import concepts from 1st world countries except things that actually help mwananchi.
Wake up in the morning, take tea with fake sugar. Ingredients: mercury, lead. Lunch time you eat greens. Ingredients: Sewage from Githurai. Jioni unakunywa pombe fake. Ingredients: hair dye & ARVs. By day end you have ingested the whole Periodic Table. Sigh
Personal Observation: Data Eng roles can be split into 3 categories:
1. Database level intensive (Strong SQL skills needed)
2. ETL intensive (Strong programming skills)
3. ML intensive (Strong stats and data science skills)
...you can start with only a subset of these skills
Important Data Engineering Skills
Data engineers are expected to know how to build and maintain database systems, be fluent in programming languages among many other skills-set
Essential Technical Skills
1). Database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
2). Data warehousing solutions.
