Today I assisted in a frontal lobotomy for a brain tumor.
8-hour surgery, alone with the surgeon, no resident.
Saw and touched a live human brain for the first time.
It was draining, but man, it was fascinating.
It’s apps out and away we go!

Pandemics and infectious diseases are not “private” issues but public health matters and a lot of these infections (including Covid) have to be declared to the ministry of health. Get over yourselves.

I’m tired, I’m drained. I just need a pinch of good news. Some hope. Anything.
Fuck this country and every last person who’s responsible for the hell we’re in. I hope they pay for this.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a myxoma?
Always nice getting some extra images when you see a weird mass hanging out in the right atrium. Choose carefully! 🫀

How many times do we have to explain that : The Vaccine’s. Main. Objective. Is. To Prevent. Severe. Illness.
And while it does protect you from catching Covid to a certain extent (up to 75% if boosted), that’s far from 100%.
For God’s sake people, it’s not all black and white.
If you had the slightest idea what healthcare workers (especially in Covid units) are going through, physically, mentally, financially, you would realize how much their less than mediocre salaries are far from worth it.
People who are rooting for a total lockdown:
-gov employees
-doctors, health related jobs
-journalists, TV stations...
To sum it up people that will keep getting their salaries at the end of the month because their job isn't affected by lockdownl
Why do most people think the only Covid symptoms are literally asphyxia and death?
Everyone saying “manne hesis bi chi” turns out to have flu-like symptoms, a headache, fever, anosmia, or so on.
These ARE the most common symptoms people...

Day 2: Full house at the Cardiac Amyloidosis session!
Had the honor of presenting our work on sex differences in ATTR-CM risk prediction.

RESEARCH: Vitamin D supplementation in those over the age of 50 in Germany was associated with a 'significant reduction' in cancer mortality, with it estimated to prevent almost 30,000 cancer deaths per year.

In the call room, blasting music, and dancing alone like an idiot while solving UWorld questions and preparing a case presentation for the next day. Is this peak final-year med student?
I used to like working late at night because it’s calm and the wifi is at its peak. But no the generator must turn off at 1.
We can’t even pull all-nighters anymore.
Breaking news: miracle cure for depression breaks out. Psychiatry and psychotherapy departments all over the country close their doors; antidepressant drugs removed from the market. Happiness levels dramatically rising, scientists say.
Update: they’re all done (last one is past day 10). I quarantined with 4 Covid+ people, even slept in the same room as my brother, assuming I was just gonna catch it.
But I guess that booster thing is OP.
And my clean sheet continues ✌🏼
My opinion: You can define art as you like, and you don’t have to call this art.
However, I think it looks really nice (especially the 2nd) and I would enjoy it as much if you told me it was drawn by a human.
Besides, AI is a fascinating human accomplishment, and a great tool.
My boyfriend and I have tried this new thing where every morning we say good morning and we give one another a quote to motivate each other for the day. It’s been really beautiful.
So this girl was able to fake cancer, but might have instead revealed a mental disorder. What she likely suffers from is called Factitious Disorder and it’s recognized in the DSM-V. She needs professional help (and definitely not bullying).
