As I point out here, pe's deceptively high because of earnings weakness. This is always the case in slowdowns.
The current 21 p/e on the S&P 500 looks high, but multiples were higher during the GFC (28) and the Covid recession sell off (23).

Europe is doing a lot better. They did better testing and contact tracing, and distancing, and took the virus more seriously, per WSJ article today. This is not a political statement since governors on both sides have "managed" this. I am aggressively neutral politically.

He’s got a good strategy in mind...The cornerstone of Mina’s approach is the distribution of lots of cheap but effective paper-strip rapid tests that people use at home. If infected, they can self-quarantine to prevent the spread.
