We have had more reports of people having barbecues on the moorlands today 😑😑 Nobody should be leaving the house unless it is to shop for essentials, medical need, one form of exercise per day or if necessary to travel to work. This does not include barbecues.

Despite Government advice to stay at home today we've had reports of lots of people having barbecues on the moorlands and this is very dangerous. It pose a huge risk of fire, is a risk to the environment and ties up our firefighters who may be needed for more serious incidents.

We spoke to @HKane earlier and he said if people kept their eye on their BBQ to help prevent fires for the hardworking crews of Greater Manchester he would bring football home! #itscominghome #topguy #hiswordsnotours

Our thoughts are with everyone who lost loved ones in the #GrenfellTower fire and the many people who have been impacted. Our flags will fly at half-mast and firefighters will hold a two minute's silence as we remember those we have lost πŸ’š

Our thoughts are with family & friends of the teen who drowned in Salford Quays this weekend. Open water has dangers even for good swimmers. Don't enter reservoirs, rivers, canals or ponds unless it's part of an organised activity. Please enjoy the weather safely.

All week we’ve been sharing photos of some of our incredible staff to bring the person behind the uniform to life and the dangerous work they do. Our firefighters have loved your support and we know so many of you are shocked that we have to remind people not to attack them. But,…

😫Yet another attack on our firefighters πŸ‘©β€πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ πŸš’Crews were called to a bonfire on Great Norbury Street in Hyde. When they arrived, around 40 young people began throwing fireworks at the crew. Firefighters work hard to keep people safe and attacks like these are NOT acceptable!
