ππ₯ Some of our firefighters taking a well deserved break from the moorland fire.
ππ»ππ» A massive thanks to all of our crews, volunteers and partners who are still at the scene working to contain the flames and prevent fire spread.

πΈπ¨βπ A round up of some shots taken from the scene this evening. Our crews will continue to tackle multiple moorland fires overnight.
ππ A huge thanks to everyone involved at the scene today and for your phenomenal support - it doesn't go unnoticed! π

Following the devastating news about our colleague Dan Lee, our CFO has issued a statement.
Please respect the privacy of Danβs family at this difficult time.
RIP Dan
Since 5pm we have been out to more than 80 incidents. Really busy for our crews. Many of these are unattended bonfires or kids thinking it is smart to set stuff on fire - it isn't.
Big shout out to our crews working hard out there β€οΈπͺ
#BonfireNight
Thank you for all your lovely messages of support for our firefighters who've worked so hard today in crazy temperatures! Too many messages to reply to individually but they all mean a lot!
The fire had spread to multiple floors but we have things well under control here. Firefighters along with colleagues from the Police and Ambulance service have done an amazing job to tackle this difficult incident! More updates to follow...
Today we are remembering Firefighter Stephen Hunt who died five years ago in the line of duty. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues. He is forever in our hearts β€οΈ
The support for our firefighters has been unbelievable and testament to the Greater Manchester spirit! If anyone else wants to donate please drop supplies off at Oldham HQ, next to Chadderton Station, we'll then take it up to the firefighters working in these difficult conditions
Flags are flying at half-mast across our fire stations today as we mark 10yrs since the death of our colleague Firefighter Stephen Hunt. Stephen lost his life while tackling a fire in Manchester on July 13, 2013. A decade on, he is still dearly missed by all who knew himβ€οΈπ
We have had more reports of people having barbecues on the moorlands today π‘π‘
Nobody should be leaving the house unless it is to shop for essentials, medical need, one form of exercise per day or if necessary to travel to work.
This does not include barbecues.
Despite Government advice to stay at home today we've had reports of lots of people having barbecues on the moorlands and this is very dangerous.
It pose a huge risk of fire, is a risk to the environment and ties up our firefighters who may be needed for more serious incidents.
Today we said goodbye to our colleague and friend Watch Manager Dan Lee. Staff members joined family and friends for a funeral service to honour Dan, who served the communities of Greater Manchester for 16 years π
Our thoughts are with family members, friends, and colleagues of Firefighter Stephen Hunt, who lost his life nine years ago fighting a fire in Manchester city centre π
π₯π It's been a long few weeks tackling various wildfires but the fire on Saddleworth moors is now out and we have withdrawn all crews from the incident π.
βοΈπ The warm weather is still set to continue so please take extra care on the moorlands.

ππ₯ Military have arrived at the scene this morning to support our crews in tackling the the multiple fires across Tameside moorland.
