I am hearing that the tide is turning on the flag issue in the MS legislature. PLEASE contact your legislators and encourage them to make that vote happen. It is time for the flag to come down. Because it is the RIGHT thing to do AND for our future.
The look of a happy man who knew this win was an inevitability. When you invest in your university you reap the rewards that yield the results for decades. The same is true for your community. Investment turns the tide.
The City of Starkville is saddened by the loss of Lake Little. She was a star for us and had such a great plan for her life commitment to others. Flying was her love and her passion. Our thoughts and prayers to her family for comfort.
Just got this sent to me. Let’s be clear, the mask requirement isn’t an ordinance, it is a resolution that takes effect immediately. Unanimity isn’t required. Don’t you just hate uninformed lawyers???
I am honored to be unopposed in the municipal election this term. It has been an exceptional 4 years and I am proud of all the things that this board has accomplished. I look forward to completing those and starting new and important projects for our city.
I am so glad everyone is staying well hydrated when they are enjoying our parks. Now, PICK UP AFTER YOURSELVES!!!! That way when you come back out the next day it will be somewhere you want to be. That is all.
No I did & Little Dooey’s shared. The officers worked hard and spent long hours planning to help make sure this march was professionally handled. The protest was a national call not against Starkville. Good timing and good apology here.
I know the print is small but the news is HUGE!!! The
@COStarkville
is a recipient of the largest grant we have been privileged to receive. It is for 12.66 million dollars to revitalize Highway 182. Thanks to the entire team who worked to make it happen.
It has been my honor to serve the citizens of Starkville over the past 3.5 years. Today I have taken the step to qualify to run for re-election. I am asking for your vote so that we can continue and complete the projects we have started.
#StarkvillElections
I have spoken with the representatives of our sister cities of West Point and Columbus who also have mask requirements and they intend to maintain their status despite the change in the statewide mandate.
So Starkville is a GREAT place to do business. How do I know??? Because we have an amazing new project that is breaking ground. People investing in our future is a story that should be told with volume. Thank you for that confidence in our city.
It is without at doubt the most overwhelming and gratifying sense to have the trust of the citizens of Starkville. I do not and will not take that for granted as we work together to make Starkville the best she can be. There is so much more we can do together. Thank you.
It is the new tradition of playing Taps at 3:00 PM on Memorial Day. Thank you for doing this for our neighborhood and our city and those for whom it is ultimately played.
@SteveHartmanCBS
Don’t confuse his role as Commander in Chief with his role to recommend or not recommend masks based on scientific research. As a veteran I fully understand the distinction. One I support as a chain of command for the military; the other he hasn’t a clue.
I can’t believe the SEC commentators refuse to acknowledge the excellence our dawgs. 25 point lead in the 4th quarter and they say maybe we can hold on. What is up with that??? Is Mississippi just too hard to say. Maybe we should just go by MSU.
So????
@dak
how about diversifying and opening a new sports bar/restaurant concept here in
@COStarkville
Starkvegas. Your Mississppi college town awaits.
And the controversial bridge continues to take shape. Never judge a bridge before it’s time. Or maybe wait to cross the bridge when it is finished??? It is fabulous!
The
@COStarkville
mourns the passing of Coach Leach. He was a powerful presence in our community. We will miss his brilliance and fascinating take on life. Fair winds and following seas to THE Pirate.
I have announced plans to seek reelection in 2021. The upcoming city elections are about S⭐️kville’s future and how well the community recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe in our city. via

In the great City of Starkville today & this weekend we celebrate a national birthday and a national world series title. The first one allows the second one to be a part of our lives in ways that some countries don’t have. Glad to be an American and a Starkville resident. 🇺🇸⚾️
I am excited to report that the lawsuit Brown vs City of Starkville was found in favor of the city today. It means that we are free to exercise our potential to create a public space in our downtown area. The possibilities are vast. 🙂
Starkville, home of Mississippi State's National Championship baseball team, is building a state-of-the-art, 12 field Sports Complex that will be a destination for youth teams everywhere.

What a great day. I was trying to decide what to wear today and chose my
@jakemangum15
Mayor shirt. What luck it brought. I got to say hi to the Mayor of the Diamond Dogs himself. Thanks for being a great Starkvegas ambassador. Something about that

100% of the patients at
@OCH_Regional
today who are there as COVID patients are unvaccinated. 3 are in ICU and 1 on a ventilator. Tell me again why you won’t get vaccinated. Never mind, don’t. Just do it!
Check out the progress on Cornerstone Park construction. Looking for an opening date next spring. This will be a premiere facility for our children to enjoy. It is also going to bring guests to our hotels and restaurants and support our tourism industry. Win/Win!!
That wall is really starting to look like a local masterpiece. Thank you
@msstate
art students for showing your artistry and sharing it to beautify our home.
The
@COStarkville
has NOT lifted our requirement for masks in businesses and public buildings serving the public. Our requirement was in place prior to the Governor's statewide order and it remains in place.
I am happy to report that the board voted to remove the mask mandate effective Midnight May 1. Interestingly enough the folks who wanted to remove it earlier voted against removing tonight. This pandemic has made for some strange occurrences. 😷May 1 😀
These 2 new fire trucks are part of the way we protect our citizens and honor our community. They are beautiful and they are life saving additions. Merry Christmas to Starkville.
Considering Dan was a great man, a great mayor and my friend and considering he lost his battle against COVID you need to step back from the edge of being an ass and pick a different way to make your point assuming you have one.
Ok, so why didn’t someone tell me there was a Starkvegas football mayor. 😳I had to find out from ESPN?? I mean I knew about
@jakemangum15
I am getting really good at sharing the title. I am about to start referring some traffic and mask complaints forward. 😉
What a surprise! Thank you for the recognition. It was absolutely the best of times and the best of memories for me. Serving in the Navy was a pleasure and a joy and a formative experience for my life.
To celebrate
#WomensHistoryMonth
, we’re recognizing Lt. Lynn Spruill, the first female in the Navy to qualify to land on an aircraft carrier in 1979. Be sure to read more about

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year S🌟kville!!!
This was not our finest hour and I am sorry that the message sent was the diminishment of the value of a large group of our most vulnerable and gentle citizenry. It was a parade not a protest march, but that too could change.
Game 3. The music is great; the temperature is great; eating and enjoying Diet Coke for the entire game so don’t @ me about a mask unless you see me wandering around without it. Play Ball!!!
I just visited the work site. They are about to replace the 20 foot section of pipe and once they do the water pressure will be allowed to build. We expect water pressure by 4 AM. These guys have been doing this since noon. They are our friends and neighbors working for us.
I had to stop on the side of the road because I was laughing so hard at the “Lynn Blend” from
@SBCoffeehouse
. Thank you for the best laugh in a long while. 🤣🤣😂
Jeffery Simmons, former Bulldogs give back with football camp. It is extra special to have Jeffrey back in town. I want to personally thank him for letting us be a location for his camp. This is what giving back looks like and it is beautiful.
These
@HailStateWBK
are awesome. Starkvegas is becoming the sports capital of Mississippi. Big plans for more to come. Baseball capitol; basketball capitol and soccer capitol. Must be in Starkville.
It was an honor to visit with the team
@HailStateFB
@Coach_Leach
that created the magic last Saturday. They are our residents and this is their home and we couldn’t be happier about that. Thank you for letting me tell them that.
How to start your day off in the best possible way. Surrounded by these
@HailStateBB
handsome stars delivering season tickets. Life in
@mscollegetown
is great!!!
You understand that the free market doesn’t involve the government picking and choosing what restaurants, right? So the answer is that someone thinks they can make money by selling fish to our residents. Please open an Olive Garden. I will be one of your first customers.
Everyone should have power restored. The electric guru says a transformer at the substation went out and they have now isolated it so we should be good to go. Thank you everyone for your patience and humor. Next time don’t wait to do that paper til the last minute.
I am honored to have received a Community Partner of the Year award from Starkville High School. Thank you so much. Working with such an outstanding school district has been a pleasure. We are better together.
The opportunity to participate in honoring a Starkville legend and sharing that acknowledgment with
@MSU_SA
and
@HailState
@HailStateBB
is pretty special.
@COStarkville
will be adding to it at our new baseball park in 2022.
It is a fabulous day at the Dude! I may not be behind home plate but the view from my regular seat at Dudy Noble is pretty fine. In fact there are no bad seats at this baseball palace.
#HailState
The airplane door is shut and takeoff is imminent. 1.5 hours later they should be
@gtrairport
and then on to Dudy Noble
@HailStateBB
@DudyNobleField
to give them a great Starkvegas welcome home! Be there!
Happy Birthday America. It has been an extraordinary week for MSU and the City of Starkville. We can enjoy the triumph of being the CWS champions and living in the greatest country ever known. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
#HailState
I don’t understand why we cling proudly to the memory of an ignominious defeat over a morally corrupt past. Put those vestiges of our past in a museum and concentrate on the excellence of our future. There is so much more we can do and be that befits our humanity and our state.
