181 years ago today, my family almost lost the farm. They hired a lawyer to save the farm and get debt owed to them paid. They won, and that farmland still remains in the family's possession today. The man my family hired? Abe Lincoln. How crazy is that?

I am COVID positive. I had an exposure over the weekend, got a (+) test Wed, and now have symptoms. I'm careful. I social distance. It was one instance that got me. This isn't the flu. I'm doing pretty good, but this isn't the flu. Wash your hands and wear your damn masks.

The Pantex Plant, located northeast of Amarillo, Texas, is the nation’s primary facility for the final assembly, dismantlement and maintenance of nuclear weapons. That large tornado is going to get uncomfortably close to that.

Well today we finally learned that the Philadelphia, MS tornado was 1/2 mile wide EF1. That means I've been within a mile of 3 different EF1 tornadoes this past week and couldn't visually confirm a single one. Mississippi, y'all.

First day covering a fatal tornado as the lead on wall-to-wall severe weather coverage. For years I've always wondered what this day would feel like. You know heading into it that it's part of the business. But nothing prepares you for it. It's surreal. Humbling. And sad.
