Something I really appreciate as a med student is having the time (compared to residents/attendings) to just sit and listen to patients. I hope to never lose my 'listening ear' even if my time becomes more & more limited w/ years of training.

Med school is being told “good job” by your attending for presenting a complex ICU patient, then getting yelled at right after for trying to interpret a CXR with a resident & not paying attention and then pimped 2 minutes later when you zoned out for 0.00000002 seconds. lol

THIS. My parents run an assisted living facility & my dad w/ cancer has used home health. I’ve taught residents during rotations what limitations home health, SNFs, RCFs, ALFs have. What if med stud/residents visited these facilities during training? We all need more exposure
@leah_pierson

Doctors routinely discharge patients to rehabs or skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), but during our training, many of us never set foot in a rehab or SNF. It seems like having a better understanding of patients' post-discharge care could prevent bouncebacks and improve outcomes.

One thing about me is that when I give a speech, I black out from the nerves. Just gave my first ever presentation @ #SAEM2022 & was a great experience but I don't know how I did lol. Looking forward to improving my public speaking skills as I continue in my career! #MedTwitter

@NadiaJamilMD Exactly! Don’t get me started on what I think about 24 hour shifts and the current work hours required of medical trainees… equally as ridiculous
