Governor vetoed HB1100 which would have given ALL localities the ability to protect tree canopy during development. NOVA has this authority so vetoing the bill denies Hampton, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Petersburg, RVA & the rest of VA the rights afforded to our wealthiest region.

Idea for VA. Create an Office for Climate Change to coordinate across government. Between emission reductions, sea level rise, health impacts, sequestration, & more… we have scores of agencies acting without a big picture plan which can (and has)lead to inefficiencies.
