What is your biggest barrier to getting around in Denton with your current mobility methods? (ie, answers other than "lack of car") For me, it's that most of Denton is a food desert. I cannot easily bike, bus, or walk to a grocery store bc there are 0 nearby.

In case anyone was wanting to buy a house anywhere near UNT, there is a grand total of 1 currently listed on zillow. it's 60 years old, 1600 sq ft, and costs $290k "but i can see others" those are empty lots going for $400k - $1.1M We should consider building more housing

My friends are making plans to leave this state for their safety. I was advised to make an emergency plan in case I have to as well. This isn't overkill, the legislation that is threatening our lives is. Trans Tennesseans shouldn't have to seek refuge from their own home.

TXDOT is planning to have 22 lanes of HWY through Denton. 22 lanes of noise and pollution, because Texas wants to settle the area north of us. Dallas, Austin, and all existing cities in Texas need to grow smarter, not push growth north, destroy the prairie and demand more highway

I've found my core message. It's simple: America built it's infrastructure during the greatest period of national wealth ever. We assumed everyone would always be able to afford large homes, lots of land, 3 cars per family. That is no longer true. We need to change course.

It's fucking astounding how fast Denton gets miserable to be in once you step off the square. Sidewalks? Those are where you put big poles, right? Crosswalks? Haven't heard of them. It's all car storage and empty buildings.
