5 years ago today, I left my dogs and 90% of my belongings behind to go to California so I could leave my abusive boyfriend of over 5 years. I was trauma-bonded to him, mostly financially reliant on him, and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. It was also one of the best.

I’ve told this story before, but in 2008 I applied to be a scooper at an ice cream stand, with a BA from a top 25 university. I was one of maybe 50 applicants. I didn’t get the job

Going to my first concert since fall of 2019 tonight and wondering where people eat before going to First Ave? Not a concert girly! There doesn’t seem to be a ton of stuff near the venue, nor does it have to be right by it (I like good food)

The sleepover discourse is fucked. I can understand waiting until your kid can communicate effectively, but sleepovers were some of the best memories of my childhood. Stopping your kid from doing things bc you are worried they’ll be assaulted is paranoid helicopter behavior

@lillybilly299 Even if she HAD told you that and you brushed it off, instead of thinking she told you that, it’s not healthy to resent someone this much for 5 years over them mishandling her trauma, and to blame them for how she handled her trauma after that is also a lot. Take it to therapy
