Maybe the eternal search for an effective HFpEF med is finally over? Amazing! Another win for GLP-1 receptor agonists, now in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF)

West Virginia - state gov staunchly anti-immigration and with lowest rate of foreign born population, lowest rate of labor force participation, and highest number of open jobs and nearly oldest US population - can’t find workers for critical roles. “eldercare is performed

My NYC question of the day / why put all these cops in subway if they literally just open the exit door for dozens of people to evade the fare and look the other way while others jump and crawl under the turnstiles? Just high priced security theater, I assume? Solves nothing.

The question for United today (earnings call and Capitol Hill) is what is their plan to deal with the imminent release of 4 TB of detailed patient records? This is a national security threat, no?

@zachweinberg Agreed. Playing to his base or so he thinks in an election year. There’s no way this has 60 senate votes.

Would be great if the 100 law firm email updates on non-competes I will get in the next week coordinated. Would save so many associate hours.

Important paper that documents with data the fact that strategic acquirors have not historically bought outpatient doctor roll-ups. It has been and will remain a PE sponsor to sponsor trade. It's one of *many* reasons why aggregating physician practices is not a sound long term

📢New paper alert! PE firms invest in physician practices to generate outsized returns on exit. But what does exit look like? Over what timeline? Measuring this activity has been difficult due to no transparency. My paper fills these gaps.

If you love Bayesian analysis and love the idea of using that framework to study whether COVID was lab-leak or zoonosis, and you have an hour free to read this, please do. Fascinating. I think we've sadly reached the death of reason, BTW

New CA bill being debated: would require PE funds to receive consent from the CA AG prior to acquiring or affiliating with healthcare facilities or providers. Would also prohibit PE from entering into certain management services arrangements with physicians or psychiatry

Not good. Broad daylight shooting in DuPont circle. Plus two armed carjackings yesterday around 5p-7p (one victim shot dead; another wounded badly).
