top16 at Sacramento - bittersweet end to a 10-1-1 start but can't complain about +$2k and 80 points. deck was broken for this weekend. we'll get there next time :D
back to back cup wins here in Seattle, pretty decent start for my first two events of the season
if this post gets me to 500 followers, I'll leak the list 👀
100/600
Top 128 Orlando with Future Lost Box! Started 3-0-1 on Day 2 but my brain stopped working. Deck is really good but really difficult. Almost all ties and losses were my fault.
Pokestop was a decklist error, Artazon is probably better.
+40, 607/600!!! see everyone in Hawaii 🥳
As promised, here's the 60 I played to win two cups this weekend.
nothing too spicy but the deck is a lot of fun! (i take no responsibility for the mews and lugias you may hit 😉)
thanks everyone for your support! I promise your follows will be well worth it this season.

Top 32 Turbo LZ as featured on stream!
deck is nuts
Started off the tournament super hot at 8-0 but couldn't quite get there and lost two win and ins to well played tough matchups; I'm pretty consistent at Day2s at this point but still searching for that breakout performance.
Top 8 at NAIC with Turbo LZB; thanks to
@__itVic
for the deckli- just kidding 😉
I've proved my worth as a deck builder already but glad to have done it as a player too.
Bittersweet end to a 12-1 start, but still happy to finally have a good finish to point to.
won another Seattle cup with the Turbo LZB that
@IsaiahBradner
@Jonner909
played at Worlds, similar to my NAIC list. pretty happy with winning 3/4 cups I've gone to.
roxanne was kinda useless because I didn't hit any comfey matchups.
170/600
won a small cup today with lz nonsense.
I'd recommend Aero for anyone that wants to play LZ but is scared of Kyogre. Helps against all the matchups that Kyogre would be for - Lugia, Arc decks, Mew, Miraidon.
+50, 280/350
Started at 5-0-1 with Sableye Intel and ended up at a disappointing 7-5-4 for T128. Two of my losses were ties that I scooped for gentleman's. Not satisfied but also not disappointed at my level of play.
The list is cracked, would play something similar to SLC if I was going.
2023 Accomplishments:
-3rd Worlds Invite (2/2 as a Master)
-Contributed to 2 Top 4, 1 Top 2 List (Charlotte, Portland, Puerto Rico)
-First 9-0 and First Top 8 (NAIC)
-Top 32 NA
-Top 16 for LAIC Stipend
-Casted
2024 Goals:
-Worlds Invite
-Continue casting
-Make more content
unimpressive 5-3-1 in Charlotte for me but
@BokhariJustin
took my 60 to top 4 so I get to take a picture with a fancy medal :D
shootouts to the car and also hotel roommates for a very fun roadtrip! probably the most fun regional I've had to date
I may have bombed out of day 1 but I had a blast in Tokyo. excited to come back as just a tourist one day. thank you to everyone I hung out with that made is so memorable!
またね!!!

rehearsal has gone soo well, production value is insane. Check it out at starting tomorrow at 10:30 AM CST and all throughout the weekend. Already one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of.
Happy to announce that I'll be returning to Chicago to help cast this event! Excited to see the decks that the competitors bring and honored to have the opportunity to cast the first high profile NA post-ro event :D
Announcing CHICAGO CLASH: A live broadcasted Pokemon TCG tournament taking place here in Chicago! We invited some of the best players in the area to compete in a 2-Deck Conquest style tournament in the post-rotation format, taking place March 30th at 11AM on my Twitch channel!
T32 Fresno with rainbow LZ! Deck felt really solid into Manaphy meta, played pretty well overall but could've either hit better MUs day 2 or played perfectly in a couple rounds to eek out ome narrow wins and ties.
370/350 - locked in my Worlds invite!
went 5-2-2 with Intel VMAX at Portland (t256) and then 5-1-1 into 2/124 at the Portland Cup with bo1 SableZard (drapion vstar, mawile)
Both decks were not bad but not great, overall surprsingly successful weekend
+30, +40, 226/350
these are all the cards I played
Thanks to
@EtchyOk
for having me on his stream to cast Lille regionals and
@Pokemon
for allowing creators to restream it!
The coolest part of the restream is definitely the lower thirds graphic that
@Corvimae
and put on. Adds some flair to my casting!
@4Chris_Brown
Bo1 is very high variance. The best solution (but not perfect) I've thought of is BO3 but both players can sign the back of the slip for an enforceable gentleman's agreement. If both players agree, the match will not tie and will be determined the same way top cut is.
I used up all my luck at Sacramento so I lost win and (id) in at Toronto but all my testing partners/students outplaced me 😛
grats to Jacob,
@abaantcg
,
@gwentrann
in Masters all playing Urshi and to Eli in juniors making Top 8 with LZB!
goodbye Intel its been real 🐟🔫🐻
Cardboard Clash completely blew my expectations away.
In everything from getting these players their decks for the first time, teaching them all how to play, casting and judging the event, and saying goodbye to everyone after it was all over, there wasn’t a single dull moment.
So honored to cast the largest online tournament circuit there is for Pokémon TCG! We'll be starting in ~20 minutes when this last round finishes up - come join the Late Night action!
My dream is to be a professional caster - please hmu for any opportunities for commentary, interviews, podcasts, etc. I have lots to say!
Speaking of which, be sure to check out
@EtchyOk
's Cardboard Clash next weekend where I'll be joining
@jakekgearhart
on the casting desk!
@capahab07
It's so funny that people are so confident that Comfey first is correct. I think it's actually extremely close.
Mesagoza would decrease your odds of hitting Comfey but increases odds of hitting VIP or Colress and this hand is almost unplayable unless you hit one of the two.
What happens when you combine a Pokemon speedrunner, a PTCG Worlds competitor, and a Pokemon speedrunner/PTCG Worlds competitor? You get the casting team for Cardboard Clash! We'll be broadcasting together LIVE from Chicago July 8th-9th over on my Twitch channel!
@FrostedCaribou
definitely GO. Starting from a level 1 account and getting a perfect IV fully ready Medicham or Registeel has gotta be like a year long commitment.
It's like if competitive Chess players were required to hand carve their own pieces harvested from wood that only grows once a year
top 64, 9-3-3 with urshifu with a spicy sylveon tech at indy regionals this weekend!
I started 0-1-1 on day 1 and was able to rally to 7-1-1, partially due to a very kind opponent, which was a great feeling
Looking forward to hopefully doing even better at NJ and Vancouver!
Hoping to make content to pull Pokémon TCG fans and collectors into the competitive scene with fun tidbits and interesting facts - how'd I do on this one?
I practiced more of my casting - here's what it would sound like if I were to cast your event!
Can feel myself getting better and am proud of this segment in particular - would love to hear any and all feedback as I keep improving!
Full Match:
I flamed out in Day 1 of World's with Bliss and decided to drop from the open at 4-3 to have more time to explore London but it was a blast and an honor to attend. Here's my Vic-a-volt list I played at the open because a couple people asked (1/2)
Firmly believe I had the best LZ 60 at the event. Lumineon is optimal.
Thank you to everyone that tested with me, lent cards, hung out, let me stay with them, and supported me. There are way too many to name everyone but you all know who you are and I appreciate you ❤️
Thank you to
@TabletopVillage
for having me on last week to cast Wednesday night locals and
@xX_0w3n_Xx
for joining me for top cut! I had lots of fun, and I'm excited to be back in Seattle soon! Here's a clip of me casting my current favorite deck :D
Presenting Lugia Counter
#77
- I haven't been able to go to any regionals recently but I almost definitely would have played this but releasing it now because the meta is no longer right for it. Definitely inspired by
@SanderWojcik
's Mewtwo control - see below for MU breakdowns.
my brother placed 5th/6th in POGO at NAIC and at the event, judges told us to submit a ticket online because he may have received an invite due to people in top 4 already having their invites - we haven't heard back in 20 days, does anyone have any advice :(
@CalebGedemer
@cgccards
@RareCandy
In top 4, game 2, could you have won by taking Horn off the Colress, bench locking Azul with Cram on bench and then hitting Ninja for 110 and then 4 turns of Sableye?
Now that I'm living in Seattle, I'll be casting locals
@tabletopvillage
as often as I can on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6PM PST, including today! Come hang out at !
Recently I've been taking up coaching - if you want any coaching for Lost Box or Urshi message me here or on Disc! (itVic). Free 30 minute consultations while I have time.
or come hang out at the Late Night streams on Wednesday and get some free coaching 😛
see you @ toronto!
As promised, here's the 60 I played to win two cups this weekend.
nothing too spicy but the deck is a lot of fun! (i take no responsibility for the mews and lugias you may hit 😉)
thanks everyone for your support! I promise your follows will be well worth it this season.
It's always been a dream of mine to be a TCG caster so over the weekend I recorded an example of what it would be like if you had me casting for one of your events!
(1/3)
Happy to say that I'm back casting the Late Night again this week - super excited to cast top cut of the NA Late Night later with
@KoopaNJ
. But if you're itching for some Pokémon action early, we're streaming Top 8 of EU right NOW!
Come say hi!
Big news!
I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be one of your commentators for
@LateNightPTCG

Big shoutout to

Top 8 at worlds! Broken deck broken last senior result!
@BruijnSydney
is playing top 4 tomorrow! (I’m a decent coach after all)❤️🔥
SO to the boys for testing and being cool!
See y’all in masters!
@JacePatr1ck
A good second grade math teacher doesn't have to have gotten an A or even a B in Calc in college. They should probably have some other qualifications to show, but placing at majors doesn't have to be the only type of qualification depending on the student's level.
@ChipRichey
If Vance has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Vance has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Vance has only one fan then that is me. If Vance has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Vance, then I am against the world.
Most people who follow me are TCG people but feel free to check out this video I just made if you want to learn a little fun fact about speedruns in Pokemon Legends Arceus!
@SoarJM
squawk can be used T1 going first to find more VIP passes. Your turn 1s going first are really inconsistent without it. Lumin is probably better than squawk going second but I wanted to have consistent T1 no matter if I went first or not.
I recently had thousands of dollars stolen from my bank account. I caught it immediately, called
@WellsFargo
and they told me that they would stop the transaction and it wouldn't go through. But it did, and then they told me that it's is gone and they would not help any further.
@capahab07
This matchup in particular is usually lost if you have to cram into Lugia here, so you might as well go for the increased odds of VIP Pass and Colress. Not to mention that you gain additional info and are able to tell if Heavy Ball grabs you Comfey.
@cschemanske
this isn't exactly your question but IMO in an ideal world, players could agree to a judge enforceable gentleman's agreement by signing something which would turn into top cut rules (less prizes wins). If prizes are tied at the end of +3 turns, game ends in a tie.
@DefconInctcg
Add up your expected points from cups/your goal placements to how many challenge points you curtently have. And then adjust your ideal challenge placements/cup placements to have a multiple of 10. Any extra points in between multiples of 10 don't do anything towards invite.
@jakekgearhart
The format itself is good, it's just been around for too long since Silver Tempest didn't change too much. Zam and Sky Stone did have good performances at OCIC but they're not archetype defining cards so the meta has felt the same for a while
Would anyone be interested in a tournament where you have to play both VGC and TCG? I'm interested in running a new tournament series but I'm trying to come up with something a little bit new and different! Does
@LimitlessTCG
even have a elegant way to run a tournament like that?
@twhitesell42
because of the event cap, 30 points at a regional is way more valuable than 32 at a cup so it's not really a relevant comparison.
regionals vs ICs is actually what needs to get fixed. 4-3-2 was guaranteed 60 pts at LAIC
@jakekgearhart
@capahab07
yeah this is where I've landed as well. but it was really interesting to see most comments not mentioning either Seal Stone or Lumineon.
@ciaran_tcg
As a coach, something that would be helpful but time consuming to compile would be common board states ranging from beginner to advanced difficulty as a sort of quiz with answers.
Like the how to win puzzles but not necessarily end game and situations that come up more often

Tropical Beach is one of the most infamous cards in Pokemon history but its been out of the limelight due to the disappearance of Expanded events. If you're a newer player or collector interested in a brief history of Tropical Beach check out my new vid!
@ursiiday
me for lzb :D
top 64 at Peoria, top 32 at Orlando, Fresno
wasn't the pilot but made list for Charlotte Top 4 and contributed to Portland Top 4
Just got to the credits of Violet -
This is far from a unique opinion but this is an amazing and fun but unfinished and unoptimized game. It's really frustrating that this gen is so close to having the best mainline games ever - it just needed more time.
It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for another Late Night!
Tune in later for
@LateNightPTCG
EU and NA online tournaments! I’ll be on commentary later tonight with
@__itVic
for another week of PTCGL action!
Stream links below!
@Fizdrinks
Almost too many to name them all and there are probably some that I haven't thought of yet but:
Valiant: Replacement for Dragonite V (difference between 200+20 and 250 is not huge)
Ping math:
Shaymin 260 + 20 = 280
Sableye 120 + 20 = 70/70
KO Manaphy, then Shuriken same turn
