In March 2021, India and Bangladesh had agreed to upgrade the land border crossing infrastructure.
"In addition, PM Modi had requested that at least one major land port between both countries be free of port restrictions, starting with ICP Agartala."

trade and they could not 1) install scanners, b) put a monetary mechanism in place, c) estb formal commn channels, to check malpractices despite knowing very well about the vulnerabilities. But no, MHA decided to suspend it instead 🙄
MHA: Issued orders to suspend LoC trade in Jammu & Kashmir with effect from 19 April. The action has been taken as the Govt has been receiving reports of cross LoC trade routes being misused by Pakistan based elements for funneling illegal weapons, narcotics & fake currency etc.
In the report, I make a case for India-Myanmar-Thailand railway connectivity, highlighting that the link is both geo-strategically and economically important for all three countries.
