These men did wrong. The wives should have helped on humanitarian grounds (Islamically, they aren't obligated to do it) but these are no grounds for divorce. I'm pretty sure emotional sons will attack me for this. But it is what it is. Please separate culture from religion.

These women refused to temporarily take care of their mother in law as the mother’s daughter, who usually cared for her, was preoccupied with her sick husband. The brothers came home to find the neighbour bathing their old mother & the wives doing nothing. Good riddance!
