I sincerely apologize you and fellow community members were treated this poorly and completely disrespected. This is not how we are supposed to conduct meetings. My office will follow-up on this matter. We can disagree but blatant disrespect is unacceptable.
This isn’t how I wanted to deliver my remarks, but I wasn’t going to allow my neighbors to interrupt me. The truth is our community builds very little new housing - affordable or otherwise. It’s time my neighborhood did its part to solve the housing crisis.
@NYCMayor
Since when do contractors not work on the weekends? That’s bull! If the detainees and staff weren’t black and brown, we know the response from
@TheJusticeDept
would be different! This is an EMERGENCY! I’m hearing MDC has declined help from NYC. This is shameful.
Thanks so much

My Grandmother passed away to COVID-19 because she was unvaccinated in her assisted living facility in Trinidad. I’m heartbroken and will never get over this. I took the vaccine in her honor to stay healthy and safe.

We are not okay and tonight is a painful reminder that the city’s budget should focus on more funding for social services, healthcare, safety net programs, education, youth employment and summer programs and less policing in our city. We are upset and we are just tired.
The power of the People. The power of the LGBTQIA+ community. We are standing united for our families, our children, our freedoms, our liberties, our rights and our FUTURE. Last night’s LGBT rally was energized for Kathy Hochul for Governor and Letitia James for Attorney General.
My political mother. My political mentor. We did it. We did it. To God be all the Glory! 🙏🙏 I’m so excited to get to work as the next Bronx Borough President!

Extremely thankful for our first responders, essential workers and everyone on site at this morning’s horrific 5-alarm residential fire.
I’m in shock. So upset. So heartbroken.
Multiple injuries, several fatalities thus far, including a child. We will do EVERYTHING to help🙏
Eventually I will get a moment to Celebrate my Birthday, but for now, the work must continue. Thankful to see another day, another year, grateful for the love & support of family, friends, constituents and my team!

I’m tired, hungry, running out of gas and patience, I have to use the bathroom, I’m still stuck in traffic BUT I’m safe! Only God to thank for that because of the HORRIBLE response to today’s snowstorm! This is beyond ridiculous and completely UNACCEPTABLE! Just terrible!
Thanks to our Education Chair
@MarkTreyger718
, I joined my Colleagues in signing a letter urging our Schools Chancellor to consider a remote learning option for students younger than 12 years old. Parents should feel assured that their youngest children are safe while learning.
I refuse to surrender our Borough to violence! This is completely outrageous that a child was shot earlier tonight sitting in her car seat. We are praying for her healing and recovery. 🙏🙏 Pray for her parents.
So many food donations coming in for our neighbors and families devastated by today’s residential fire. Grateful for the overwhelming love and support. Our small businesses have stepped up to help in a major way! We appreciate you all.

What a Tuesday. Lord have mercy. Tonight the Bronx has seen four separate shootings including a 15-year old shot in Edenwald Houses, an innocent woman sitting in her car fatally shot in the Concourse area and a triple shooting in Belmont. You really can’t make this up. SMH.
