The video from this weekend in Ocean City is deeply disturbing. Vaping on the Boardwalk is not a criminal offense. Black and brown children should not be tased while their hands are up. Officers should not kneel on the back of a minor. Vaping should not yield a hog tie.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg embodied Justice. She will be remembered as one of the most influential and important public servants of our lifetimes. A true American trailblazer, her interpretation of the law has changed countless lives for the better.

Maryland is sitting on nearly 400,000 vaccine doses and cannot articulate a plan to rapidly expand our vaccination efforts. The Governor needs to tell the people today what resources he’s putting in place to get Maryland vaccinated. We can’t keep waiting.

I am thankful for our dedicated first responders who are on the scene following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge this morning. We are ready to work with our federal, state, and local partners as rescue efforts continue and pray for the safety of all those impacted.

Symbols of the Confederacy have no place in the State House. We must ensure that the State House grounds are a reflection of Maryland’s rich history and not a home to relics of the Confederacy.

So proud my friend & colleague C.T. Wilson is Marylander of the Year. Year after year, CT stood up in the General Assembly & shared his own story-to ensure that all MD sexual abuse survivors are seen and heard, and can heal. Congratulations, C.T.

That ends the work at the desk and the House has adjourned. As we end Day 1 of the 2021 Special Session, I look forward to coming back tomorrow and continuing our work on behalf of all Maryland residents.

Once again, the House has passed, by an overwhelming majority, my bill to enshrine reproductive rights in Maryland’s constitution. Regardless of what other states do, we will unequivocally be a state that supports the right to reproductive freedom. #ReproductiveRights

Maryland is back to school! I had a great time this morning at @RandallstownHS My #1 legislative priority is education. That's why the first bill of the 2020 session will invest an additional $2.2 B for school construction and renovation projects across the state.
