Flashbacks to the time I accidentally packed 50lbs in my ruck when it was supposed to be 30lbs, and 1SG mid ruck decided instead of 3 miles it was going to be 6. & I had a black eye and was at my most depressed. I may have been last, but I wasn’t one of the quitters in the van.

Simone Biles should be an example to military leaders (well any leader). She saw that she was a liability, she saw the toll it was taking in herself and her team. She put the team’s success above her personal pride. One key to a good leader is knowing when to step aside. She did.

When you have a leader who truly cares. Our BN commander does this for every single soldier in the BN. So many people have commented on how much it’s meant to them. It really is simple acts that go so far in showing you care and sustaining/improving morale.

My friend went hiking today & found a 12 yo from a church group lost on a trail. Like this is a fairly remote part of the Wasatch with no cell service. Luckily she was able to reunite him with his group. But they didn’t even try looking for him and he was LOST, not even near them

Hot take: state active duty orders are the biggest bullshit about the Guard. If a soldier gets injured or sick its workers comp claim and not Tricare of Army medical. We’re expected to act as US Soldiers but don’t get the benefit of BAH or health insurance.
