A friend is in palliative care here at the Regional. I take his dog up every morning at 7:30am so he can wake up to his (old) puppy beside him. The love and joy on both their faces is immeasurable.

The elderly Yellow Lab ( Kasey) I inherited a couple of years ago is leaving me today, he is on his way to heaven to rejoin his Dad who passed away in 2018. Kasey has been an a wonderful friend. This weekend will be my first in 32 years without a dog to share adventures with.

My Emma passed away today, just 12 days shy of her 17th birthday.She left this world with her characteristic English Setter stoic grace graciousness resolve and reserve and her unflappable dignity. Her Dad,of course, was a blubbering mess.
