Can you diagnose a heart attack on a plane without an EKG or blood draw? No. Is a heart attack caused by an interference in the nervous system? No. Can you treat a heard attack or any condition with cracking someone’s neck? Also no. Is this chiropractor full of shit? Yes.

Don’t let anyone crack your neck. Ever. Best case scenario it maybe feels better briefly. Worst case scenario you pay a chiropractor $160 to paralyze/kill you.

Day 1 of me “re-learning” all the ICU stuff I “learned” 11 years ago: ICU Doc: Yes. Air comes through there. Me: and it goes to the patient? ICU Doc: yes. Me: where do I change the PEEP? ICU Doc: on the ventilator. This is a fan.

Chiropractic's primary role is the restoration and maintenance of the integrity of the Nervous system. The Nervous system controls all other systems, including the immune system. So, even when a situation or health condition seems hopeless, there is always something you can do.

It amazes me how many physicians dislike and don’t want to wear white coats. I’m in that group. Seems this trend is in direct response to the trend of non-physicians (PAs, NPs, RNs, RTs, lab techs etc) wearing them especially long white coats traditionally only worn by MD/DOs.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A COMPOUND FRACTURE! Anyone saying “compound fracture” is telling you they don’t understand what they’re talking about. Fractures are either open or closed. Comminuted or simple. They’re never compound.

If I had 48 hours in a day, I would still find a way to procrastinate and waste a good chunk of them.

Compartment syndrome rule outs are the worst consults ortho gets. Helpful hints about compartment syndrome: 1. Almost always happens within 8 hrs of injury. 4 days of forearm pain ain’t it. 2. They are uncomfortable like kidney stone uncomfortable. Not making TikToks.

PSA: the patient does not have compartment syndrome if they’re half asleep watching infomercials at 0530. Happy Sunday #orthotwitter

Maybe a playboy playmate being killed by chiropractic manipulation will finally get people to start thinking twice before wasting money paying chiropractors for dangerous placebo “treatments.”

@runnersworld Wow. Let me count the errors: 1. A pediatric elbow photoshopped onto an adult knee. 2. Longitudinal tears don’t heal. 3. Not all radial tears can be repaired. 4. Radial tears don’t “thin” 5. Not having an Orthopaedic surgeon write or at least proofread the column/article.

- a mother who followed a vegan diet gave birth at home. She began to hemorrhage. The midwife prepared her placenta, raw with a dash of salt & olive oil. The mother ate a serving of placenta & the bleeding stopped.

People ask why I like doing #jointreplacement surgery. It’s big, hard, and high risk/consequence surgery. I like it because... this! People get better! They walk! He’s 1 hr postop #outpatient #lesspain #hipreplacement #goinghome #anteriortha #daa @UofUOrtho @UofUHealth

I recertified in ACLS today. This is like giving a driver’s license to an 8 year old. Everyone prays I never actually use it and if I do, someone is f*ed.

Ancef. If they have a documented Penicillin allergy: give Ancef. If they have an actual proven Penicillin allergy: still give Ancef.

If you want to bring out the angry very opinionated non-medical people who take chronic narcotics on twitter, suggest that chronic narcotics may not be a good idea. The literature agrees with you, but the angry tweeters will not.

100% agree. The night my brother committed suicide, I was on in house call at a Level I when I got the news. I was so shocked, I didn’t even think to call someone to see if they would come in. Didn’t tell anyone until am conference. No less than 10 staff checked on me that day

Dear MS4s making their rank list: My family member is in the hospital and my program encouraged me to go home and called in back-up with no questions. (I’m not going to end up going home but they basically were like “you can drop everything and go.”) Get you a program like that.
