Sunak apparently wants to “scrap EU red tape”. There is no EU red tape here. The red tape UK now has is UK imposed, much by Johnson’s Brexit deal which Sunak supported. The best way to “cut red tape” would to reduce Brexit friction and align with EU standards and Single Market.

@Labourpaul I was involved in the negotiations which led to the Good Friday Agreement as PPS to Paul Murphy Political Development Minister in the Mo Mowlam team. I can tell you that this claim is total cobblers. Corbyn made no contribution whatsoever to getting peace in Northern Ireland.

I was proud to be part of Tony Blair Labour Government team that negotiated Belfast Good Friday Agreement in 1998. I recall how complex and difficult it was, and the then opposition of the DUP. It cannot be unilaterally junked by Theresa May to satisfy the DUP and ERG today

This is so wrong. Those who did contribute to peace in Ireland included Major, Reynolds, Blair, Ahern, Mowlam, Hume, Mallon, Durkan, Murphy, Ingram, Dubs, Adams, McGuiness, Trimble, Empy, Ervine, McMichael, McWilliams, Sagar. Corbyn did worse than nothing to help the process.
