Food shop this morning. Can't get lemons, chillis, parsley, spring onions, aubergines, cumin, almonds, bottled water, beans, feta, haloumi, basil, soy sauce and risotto rice. Meanwhile, Dad's in Belgium, no issue, Mum in Italy, no issues. WHAT COULD THIS BE? #BrexitFoodShortages

I stand with the Canadian truckers. Just as I stand with the Gilet Jaunes in France. Once upon a time, the British Left would have stood in solidarity with both these groups. Now it renounces them (or, at best, ignores them). And that's why it is in the mess that's it's in.

This type of play-acting brings shame on football. Once upon a time, a player who did this would be roundly condemned. Now everyone thinks it's just 'part of the game'. The authorities need to start issuing lengthy bans to players who do this.

Throughout this article, the BBC obliges Smith's demand and refers to him as 'they' - something that is both biologically and grammatically illiterate. Yes, we should treat people with compassion and respect. But I'm afraid this is just ridiculous.
