I’m Irish. Not a Sinn Féin supporter but 100% accept their democratic mandate. There seems to be a clear distinction between ‘progressive Unionism’ and ‘genuinely inclusive politics’. Being unable to answer if you will be DFM to a SF FM isn’t inclusive and hints at supremacy.

I can’t process this. How do I explain it to my 11yr old? They have set a date and an expectation again for these kids that they simply cannot guarantee. Kids w/o face to face teaching in the lead up. This is a worse scenario that we started today with. So cruel from educators!?

Suggesting that the growth in the electorate that defines as ‘other’ is creating more division is nuts?! It’s literally the opposite. By voting for parties like Alliance (and others) this growing electorate is actively rejecting tribal parties because they cannot take NI forward.

The tragedy of 39 persons being killed in a lorry in Essex is terrible. It is now confirmed that the Bulgarian Registered lorry is owned by a person in the Republic of Ireland and, although the driver comes from NI, he may well have opted for RoI Passport to ease travel via EU!

Great to see so many people now vocal on childcare, the fact is it’s ALWAYS been an issue! Covid has laid bare existing frailties. We need a fit for purpose childcare strategy including expansion of free provision now. Childcare costs are already insane & force many out of work!

Transfer tests done. 4 weeks, 5 tests following months and months of constant assessments. I will never come to terms with this system for 10/11 yr olds, in any guise. Anyway ending on a positive note, nice touch from @Wellington_BT7 Now for some fun and chill out time 😊

Since 10/11yr olds don’t do Twitter, sending a virtual hug and deep breaths to parents with kids doing the first round of transfer tests tomorrow. I’m one of them. Totally relate to your anxiety coupled with relief that tomorrow is the beginning of the end of these damn tests!
