Iโm delighted that committee backed my proposal this evening to use funds raised by events in our parks (Boucher Rd, Botanic Gdns, & Ormeau Pl) to invest back into the local area.
This endures that the levy paid by big promoters using our parks benefit those who are disrupted.
Something special is happening on the Belfast Stories site. I met Paul & Gawain a while ago where they talked about turning derelict sites into thriving meanwhile space for growing food, art & connection in response to climate change. Amazing to see it coming together ๐ฑ
So many people I know would love to cycle more - they just donโt feel safe to. Glad cycling organisations were involved in the consultation of the Road Safety Strategy & look forward to seeing whatโs included when we have sight of it bicycle ๐ด
We lead today with the utter devastation caused by the deaths on the A5 of Kamile Vaicikonyte, 17, and 19-year-old Jamie Moore. Just days before, Kamile had taken part in an event at her school to raise awareness of the dangers of that particular road. Beyond heartbreaking.
