One of the baffling things about Trumpworld giving access to Wolff: all they needed to do was call Murdoch and he would have said don’t cooperate b/c Wolff had written nasty book on him. And Jared/Trump speak to Murdoch all the time!
White House communications director Hope Hicks, who has been in a romantic relationship with Rob Porter, was involved in crafting the response to the allegations of domestic abuse leveled against Porter on Tuesday, two sources familiar with the matter tell me
Trump has consistently made a distinction between immigrants from Western Europe and immigrants from other parts of the world--and been puzzled why others would not see that logic.
I once had the pleasure of editing

columns at the Industry Standard. I hired him partly because the first chapter Burn Rate, which had just come out, was a dead-on portrait of an event I had actually attended. Nothing ever led me to doubt his reporting.
And now for something completely different (if tangentially related): I've been teaching this

piece for years. It remains among the finest examples of rigorously honest personal essay writing I've seen.

Since you largely recycled my story (and sources) from 20 years ago, you might have called me and I would have told you all the ways the story turns out to be wrong.
Finished Michael Wolff’s stunning Fire and Fury. The Trump debacle lurches between Carry On farce and Shakespearian or Greek tragedy. Sidesplittingly funny and deeply scary at the same time. Should be –– probably will be –– a Broadway Musical to out-boxoffice Book of Mormon.
From LANDSLIDE: "The former president’s office has been supplied a detailed summary of ...the material set forth in this book. His staff has either confirmed events...or disputed [matters] have been included only if confirmed by multiple sources."
All these stories from the Michael Wolff book are not true.
Wolff never asked President Trump about them, if he had, he would have refuted them.
Fake News!
Yet again why does it seem so hard to get a detailed assessment of whether Hope Hicks is capable and effective? Many reporters, producers and bureau chiefs have a clear point of view.

Michael Wolff, Maggie Haberman, Jonathan Swan, Bob Costa, Bob Woodward...
Every single one of these "reporters" the Trump White House gave access and interviews to ended up BRUTALIZING them.
Who was making these calls? Appalling strategy.
1/2 In the almost 20 years since I first identified and wrote about the almost 30-year-old Bloomberg booklet for NY Magazine, I have come to understand that it was as much a joke on itself, making fun of Bloomberg, rather than Bloomberg making fun of others.
You did and I don't know why you're not asked since it seems so hard for others to properly assess her capabilities. Why aren't Washington media people who seem to work with her all the time asked to comment on her performance?

A drop of 2%. If you check the Gallup data, the drop has actually been from 31% just after the inauguration to 26% most recently, which is a 16% decline.
Further: I was specifically asked not to bring up the matter of Jeffrey Epstein when I interviewed the former president in Mar-a-Lago. This was prior to Ms. Harrington taking the job.
