Today we took my daughter on an educational trip to Manzanar, the former Japanese internment camp in California. It turned out to be a good day to remember that a person is never an enemy because of his or her ethnicity. People find that easy to forget, today as in the past.

This is true. My surgery should be next week. I have cancer in my lymph nodes; I need the cancer removed. It likely won’t happen because there are no beds for me. They are full from COVID. Surgeries are getting delayed. I wish more people had been willing to get vaccinated.

Yesterday, my husband was told he could have a needed cancer surgery next Wednesday. Today, he got a call that it was likely cancelled. Why? Because even though a surgeon and OR is available, the hospital is filled with Covid patients.

I just came out of an Immigration Court hearing. 35 cases on the judge’s docket. All families with kids and some kids who are alone. Only two cases with legal representation, including the teenager my student and I represented. Las Vegas needs lawyers for immigrants.

A big thank you to my Las Vegas councilman @BrianforLV , who not only helped our foster child get registered for an after school program, but got the City policy modified so that foster and homeless children will always be at the top of the list. He did that in roughly 36 hours.

This just exposes the infuriating nature of Biden’s failure so far on immigration. He’s getting attacked by Fox and the GOP exactly the same as if he literally had opened the borders, and yet he’s keeping Trump-lite policies. So he fails politically, in policy and morally.

What part of Biden's "immigration record," exactly, do they plan to run against? Biden has kept Trump's most restrictionist (& likely illegal) border policy in place: Title 42 Biden tried to end MPP (another Trump border policy)—but judge blocked him!

I had my neck surgery. Went well. Thank you @UMCSN for having a bed for me. Cancerous lymph nodes removed. Hopefully immunotherapy takes care of anything that’s left. Unfortunately, I have nerve damage to my left shoulder and my face. But that was expected, and it’s worth it.

I just got a statement showing that when I had surgery, the hospital billed my insurance company $170,373. Then gave a discount to the insurance company of $167,623. What would they have tried to charge an uninsured person? Medical billing in the United States is a sham.

@CIS_org But as the immigrant population arrives older, they have fewer and fewer year to contribute - before they begin to claim. Older immigrants are also more likely to make claims on Medicaid even before they reach 65.
