We're delighted to welcome the newest members of the

family🫀!
Congratulations to the newly matched fellows! We can't wait to greet you in Rochester in July 2024!
Thankful for the
@ASE
for this great opportunity to present our work on myocardial stiffness by cardiac elastography in
#HCM
in the 2021 YIA sessions! ASE support for young investigators is greatly appreciated!
We show that moderate or severe AFMR is not common even in pts with LAVI >=40 (6%) but mild AFMR is (30%). Even mild AFMR is associated with ⬆️ mortality
In this review, we comprehensively review cirrhotic cardiomyopathy. We summarize pathophysiology, cardiac imaging, diagnostic criteria, and current evidence on available therapies
Thankful to mentors & team

Serositis, myopericarditis, abdominal pain, migratory polyarthralgia and weight loss in a 64 yo man who did not respond to MTX and steroids for seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.
What is your differential diagnosis?
(Credit: NEJM
@IDDocAdi
)
28% of pts with atrial
#MR
had
#HFpEF
at baseline, and in those without a diagnosis, HFpEF was diagnosed in 7.4% every year, indicating high risk of masked HFpEF‼️
On the other hand, the incidence of low
#EF
was not increased

for editorial on our manuscript studying noninasive measurenents of mitral/tricuspid annuli
Definitely need not only measurements over 5 cycles but also throughout each cycle for max size.
Great advice!

These two tips make you see things you can't see otherwise 🧐
@AndrewJSauer
It probably is "masked" HFpEF; what's causing the LA myopathy is the same that causes diastolic dysfunction and HFpEF (systemic inflammation), and those aggrevate LA myopathy further.
Interestingly, regression of AFMR didn't improve mortality, likely because of HFpEF in these pts

Faysal, we had a lot of fun tonight!🤩 Been a great pleasure getting to know such amazing friends! Hopefully it's not the last trio dinner at Mayo if we're lucky to have you both back as CV fellows & certainly not the last trio dinner of all as I'm sure we'll meet again 😁🎊🎉🎉
My rule is more simple: If you find yourself needing this momentum all the time, change what you're doing (if you can)... Find something you're excited about!

Maybe mention this in your PS is a positive story in your life. If mentioned in your mspe you can't run away from it, but you can use it in a positive way
