I went to a conference where the (male, childless) organiser put up a speaker to share their productivity hacks:
the male, childless speaker said to get up, go straight to exercise, then breakfast, then work ...
I asked where feeding the kiddos & school run fitted in - no reply!

Yep last time I saw this posted someone pointed out that the flats which got ‘healed’ were lived in by ordinary families whereas the new version could only be afforded by the wealthy.
So if ‘healed’ means getting rid of normal families from an area I guess it’s all good …
I haven't really talked about it at all - but in 2023 I finally divorced my husband.
For years I put up with him often being so drunk he could barely walk, and telling me virtually every day how rubbish I was - at everything. (He did get physical too but never actually struck
It’s

Sometimes it’s easier to tell people we’re ‘fine’ than to say how we really feel.
But by talking about mental health we can bust myths and break down barriers.
So, how are you starting a conversation about mental health today?
@Rethink_
@coopuk
So I heard a social media expert recommend businesses not to use Twitter ...
But of all the networks, it's the easiest for finding people & building relationships
& it's fab for opportunity
eg. one tweet led to me giving a talk/ appearing in national media
What's your view?
@naomicfisher
That is horrible.
Also potentially puts stress on the whole family as family life has to be rearranged in order to make sure the child gets home from school an hour later than usual.
How is it helpful? Do they have any idea of the potential harm they're doing?
I haven’t been here for days because I haven’t been able to write what I’m sharing now and I couldn’t write anything else.
One week ago today I lost my beautiful little sister Carolyn and my heart is broken irreparably.💔
She was the most loving, funny, smart, generous, loyal,
In the space of 6 months I
finally divorced my emotionally abusive husband
almost lost my father
shockingly and devastatingly lost my sister.
Yet here I am, still beating myself up for stuff I'm not doing.
It's incredible, the infinite capacity us humans have to be horrible
@simonharris_mbd
My sister is autistic and was in mainstream school for a while until they couldn’t cope. That was 40 years ago. I’m not apologising for the money spent on her, nor the money spent on her education in other settings. Nor for any of the money spent supporting any child in a world
The Stories format didn't take off on Twitter or LinkedIn.
And that's a great demonstration of the fact that even though we're all on lots of different social networks,
... we have different expectations of the content on each one.
Agree?
Here we are...
my youngest lad’s last day in primary school (he’s gone in for the last 2 days) & the end of my 18 year journey as a primary school Mum which started one cold Jan morning in 1992 in St Albans with my eldest asking if the school was open yet.

@Peston
Unbelievably awful tweet.
Teachers probably put in 5x the work they normally do - and they work incredibly hard anyway.
They had their own families to look after, students in the classroom to teach, students online to teach, loads of extra protocols to manage ...
Finding it tough today.
I woke at 5am which was the exact time, 2 weeks ago today, that my sister was last checked by the hospice nurses.
She left this earth less than an hour later with me by her side.
I cried all the way taking the boys to school and all the way home again.
✨Oh this is cute!✨
Twitter's created a ‘like’ animation for tweets that include the
#WearAMask
hashtag.
So if you click/ tap 'like' you get to see the ❤️ wear a 😷
Anyone thinking of adding more hate to the Dear Liz thread ... why?
Will it really make you feel better?
It's certainly not going to make her feel better.

I love them as a way of keeping in touch. I’ve just been told that the card/ letter I sent to a relative whom I haven’t seen for ages made their Christmas!!
It was my sister’s funeral yesterday.
I read the beautiful & uplifting poem ‘Joy Found You’ by
@Donna_ashworth
to start the service.
My brother read a wonderful poem about my sister written by one of her carers.
And then I discovered that yesterday was World Poetry Day ❤️
@1goodtern
When my dad was in hospital before Christmas and I was visiting one afternoon they suddenly came round with masks and asked us to wear them as a patient on the ward was Covid positive.
The only thing separating that patient from the others was a standard fabric curtain.

Absolutely- I looked at trains for me & my daughter to go from Exeter to Leamington Spa return - and because the return was at peak time the ticket was going to be about £300.
With prices like that, no one is going to choose trains over driving.
I just want to say a huge thank you for all the incredible messages and comments I've received after I shared my story yesterday.
I'm absolutely overwhelmed - I shared in the hope that I would help encourage someone to talk, or someone to check in with a friend.
But you've
In all the ra-ra-ra about creating content, it's easy to forget that social media networks are brilliant for listening.
You can find out so much just by watching people's posts and responses - especially here on Twitter.
And listening is a key part of effective communication.
8 weeks and a day ago,
As I sat at my sister’s bedside
For her last night on this earth
I said
‘I’ll see you in the flowers
And in the rain
In the trees
And the grass
In the sky
And in the clouds
In the sea
And in the pebbles
In the sunshine
And the
So I pay for Twitter Blue - and I've got the ability to write those extra-long tweets.
But I'm limiting myself to writing standard-length tweets (usually).
Why?
Because I love the discipline of making my words fit into 280 characters!
Is it just me?
Anyone else the same?
@matthaig1
No it wasn't but I can understand why people bring it up - they're being asked to put their trust in a vaccine that's being endorsed by the government, which has broken our trust time and time again.
I swear, if I see one more post telling me about what I could achieve during lockdown ... I'm going to go outside & shout a nasty word very very loudly!
What is it that people don't realise about the stress that some are under just to get through each day & out the other side?
@DeborahMeaden
Wow - Star Baker is awesome! Good for you for calling out this headline - we seriously don't need any engineered negativity - we've got enough of the real stuff going on!
@DeborahMeaden
@BorisJohnson
How could I? When they create websites and Twitter accounts that aren't what they seem, and manipulate statistics, tell apparent half-truths and don't answer questions.
@PastoralThings
Yes!! I was so upset hearing about students getting detentions at my lads’ school because they forgot to take a mask into school during the pandemic. All the school needed to do was to have boxes of spare masks in place.
@JournalistJill
When I had a miscarriage I had to sit & wait for a scan with all the pregnant mums. And the medical staff kept referring to me as being pregnant - when I'd been bleeding for days already.
Absolutely blown away by the eloquence, courage, humanity and knowledge of the Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko on

this evening.
Her composure and presence were astounding, given what she and her country are dealing with.
@Femi_Sorry
My parents always taught me that to use the word 'black' to describe someone was offensive; the correct (and unoffensive term) was 'coloured'.
So there will be many, many people of that generation who would truly believe they're using an unoffensive term if they say 'coloured'.
Sorry I don’t subscribe to ‘people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it’.
Of course they buy what you do because it’s going to solve their problem.
They might choose you because of your ‘why’ but if you can’t solve their problem they won’t consider you.
Thoughts?
My beautiful sister’s favourite colour was pink.
Funnily enough, it’s always been my favourite too.
Since she left us, she’s been sending some wonderful pink skies 💕💕💕
I just screamed out loud & scared the cat!
My eldest lad just got his degree result while on a train to see a friend
He texted me & all I did was scream!
He’s had such a challenging time but he’s done sooo brilliantly✨✨
So ridiculously delighted for him & very proud! ✨✨
Had my first dose of the

vaccine yesterday. I was worried about side effects but literally have had none!
(Sadly that means I have no excuses to stop me from doing the cleaning now!!)
😱 4,000 character tweets?
One of the reasons I love Twitter is the character constraint.
Tweeting is an ace way to get good at binning superfluous words.
And tweets are super-quick to consume.
Really don't think I'm going to like this new feature ...
You?
So excited that the book I’m a co- author of is now available on Amazon!
It’s only £2.40 on Kindle- if there’s any chance you could buy it & leave a review please that would be amazing! Thanks 😍

I’ve just finished creating 45 social media posts for a client.
If you see all those posts from people claiming to create a month’s worth of posts in a couple of hours, it probably sounds like nothing.
But it took days of work and intense concentration. I’m shattered …
And
This was a first for me!
Anyone else had this?
Talking with a potential client to learn about their project-they insisted on paying for the call
I felt so valued
Compare that with the client who didn't pay me for nearly 3 months
I felt rubbish
We can choose who we work with!
My gorgeous daughter is 21 today!!✨✨
She’s a great example of how you’re never too old to fight with your siblings (even when you’re a bridesmaid at your sister’s wedding!!) 🥂
I’m so glad she’s getting to celebrate properly (4 different celebrations in all) as her 18th
Hard to believe that this time last week we were walking around under glorious sunny sun in T-shirts!

Imagine walking into a room where 100 people are all talking at once.
One person notices you, stops talking, comes over, says hello & asks about you & you chat.
Which person will you remember out of that 100?
By being that person on social media, you can make a big impact.
So many 'inspirational quotes' around encouraging us to 'never give up'.
But surely sometimes giving up is absolutely the best decision we can make - and opens the door to new adventures?

Looking forward to a full debrief on their progress later today. Will, of course, keep you informed."

That's just awful.
What the hell is going on in schools that they don't even give the minimum amount of care to those who may need it the most?
I'm so sorry for your son.
Why isn't Ofsted picking up this sort of stuff rather than picking on headteachers trying their hardest?
💡Twitter analytics
5 months of working with a client show that
➡️tweets about their personal life get way more engagement than educational tweets
➡️but, of course, educational tweets establish them as an expert
If you're only sharing one of these ⬆️, try adding the other.
✨ Hope you’ve had a great day✨
Mine has been sooo exciting - wedding dress shopping with my 2nd eldest 💍
My other daughters and her best friend were there too - it was so fun & she found THE one!!
(Only seems like 5 mins since I was choosing mine!)
@ThatChristinaG
Hi - I'm jumping in because -why not? I've followed everyone that Twitter would allow .. I've been put on the naughty step now!
I love training businesses small & large how to use social media effectively - I've been in this space for 10 years!
Also I tweet about Devon & ducks!
I still can’t believe it - 2 weeks ago today I had the most lovely day at Beaulieu Motor Museum with my youngest and was feeling so happy …
Today I’m letting people know the details of my sister’s funeral.
Life changes so fast 💔
This is marketing at its best - helping people to make the right decision for them in the moment - which could very well be not to buy.
What a great way to earn loyalty as a source of expert advice.

Every year since I can remember I’ve given my kiddos tiny Valentines gifts & cooked them a special Valentines tea as I want to remind them how special they are.
Yesterday was no exception, even tho’ only my youngest lads were at home.
(I posted gifts to the older ones)

I just got my Dad discharged from the local hospital as they weren’t doing anything to progress his recovery and actually, as they had no capacity to help him be independent, his cognition and mobility were getting worse. He’s home now and a changed man!

Today’s my birthday but my focus is on my amazing daughter starting her A Level assessments today.
They were told exams would be a month later than usual, then that there’d be no exams, then with only a few weeks notice, it was full on exams again.
I’m so proud of her attitude ✨
