@realChrisBrunet I have no gripe at all with extension school -- I proudly and happily teach in it; I admire and respect the students and I love talking with them. Extension school does great service to education. My gripe is with people who try to pass themselves off as something they are not.

@gm_silverman Part of the financial calculation is the cost of flying to smaller cities/ airports. At least when I was working on this issue, they could be expensive and hard to get to from many places where political scientists live

@bd_highsmith Unfortunately from the author’s perspective, the answer to your question is “no”. A lot of academic books sell only a few hundred copies, mainly to wealthy libraries. NOT a good business model…

@alexheard @RadioFreeTom great idea, but it was more than beer belly putsch, which I worry trivializes it. Did you see the photo of the guy with fistfuls of zip ties? or molotov cocktail guy? or "where is Pence?" Some were serious about insurrection, not just a party

naive ?: if abortion is immoral/sinful, what gives a state legislature the right to decide that it is legal in, say, Iowa? Implication: people opposed to abortion on moral/religious grounds must be disingenuous in their expressed view of "let the states decide." Is that right?
