Honestly, it's good to see the "Ireland isn't racist" fantasy smashed. We voted to deny children citizenship rights. We've always treated Travellers appallingly. A mixed race couple had to leave the country for appearing in a Lidl ad. We are racist, ignoring it doesn't help.

I used to work on Dominick St. around the corner from here and people would be skulling cans day in, day out. Never caused any hassle. People who suffer from alcoholism are sick and have been failed by society. Singling them out as dangerous only makes society more cruel.

The last Bill that Brendan initiated and got passed was Coco's Law which tackles image based sexual abuse and makes distribution of intimate images without consent a crime. Made social media a lot safer for young people especially. A great legacy to finish on.
