One of our engineers brought his daughters and their friends out for a cycle to test our new coastal cycle route. This safe space for pedestrians and cyclists has been completely transformed recently and we're delighted our 4 young product testers approve of the works!

Early this morning we planted a huge Irish oak in the church space at the top of Marine Road. The tree is 9m tall and weighs 3.5 tonnes. It is a new focal point in the centre of the town, it will continue to grow and spread. A legacy tree. #dlrparks #urbangreening #ili_landscape

Safe & effective separation between vehicles & cyclists in cycle lane design is critical. It provides protection for cyclists & prevents vehicle encroachment. Most significant factor to enable less confident cyclists, especially children, to cycle safely on our roads.

Illegally parking is anti-social. It can have dangerous implications for people who may not be very mobile, wheelchair users, and families, forcing vulnerable pedestrians on to the road, and into harm's way. Don't park illegally, don't put people at risk.

Tree works are complete at Blackthorn Park. A combination of 5988 native woodland trees & whips have been planted which will sequester 6193 tons of carbon from the atmosphere and produce 16.51 tons of oxygen per year! Now that’s a breath of fresh air! #dlrparks #climateresilience
