All 14 Sask CPC MPs voted against the Canada Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. They shamelessly chose narrow ideology over representing their constituents, who widely support help for war-damaged Ukrainians. Shame indeed.

I think the Government of Saskatchewan has miscalculated public reaction on education. The report that Saskatchewan students rank close to the bottom in math and science has rattled parents. Saskatchewan people are proud and donโt like to look like we arenโt keeping up.

What a load of counterfactual garbage. It simply hasn't happened this way - i'm not sure who the writer meant to comfort with this.
The Canadian response started in January and has been evidence-based and guided by experts. Not sure the US can say the same.

I'd add this: since Canadian government started funding vaccine research in January, researchers at my university have isolated a covid19 vaccine and it is in animal testing.
It is excellent news. And Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau had nothing to do with it.

Very true. There wasn't a need for a major political battle to get testing because it's already embedded in the system. The writer has a narrative around some US celebrity model he wants to demonstrate when it simply doesn't hold true.

The rest of Canada is moving forward while Saskatchewan now has a reputation worse that any time in modern history. Itโs hard to see what Scott Moeโs plan is for our future.
Two cases only days apart: a hockey coach gets 3 years for sexual assault against a 17 year old boy but a teacher gets 2 years for years of grooming and sexual assault against a 13 year old girl. Sex crimes against women are still seen as lesser crimes.
You will go to federal prison for a longer sentence if you assault a boy over "two days in August" than if you groom and assault a 13-year old girl for years and years.
The crimes are not seen as the same.
Why is that?

I dispute the Trudeau "fairness" argument. I read Sask also has 16,000 home heating oil users, people who (like Atlantic Canadians) pay rates 3-4x higher because they don't have access to natural gas. In an affordability crisis it seems entirely reasonable they get a break.
To thwart the teachersโ withdrawal of lunchtime supervision, students and teachers are supposed to keep working thru the lunch hour while kids eat lunch. The callous Sask govt and complicit school boards clearly donโt think of the students in this scenario.
Iโm reading that some school divisions think they can just arbitrarily move the lunch break to the end of the day and force teachers to move the final class to the normal lunch break. Thereby forcing children to go without lunch until 2:00 or 2:30. Are these people for real?

When staffing levels are erratic enough to shut down the emergency department in your largest city, when closures gutpunch rural areas that just want a hospital, the province has a health crisis.
Yesterday Saskatoon experienced itโs first โpartialโ closure of an emergency department for 3 hrs. If you presented w/ a concern which you felt was an emergency, you likely wouldโve been turned away after 5pm. This is a huge red flag for a sick health care system.
@JeremySimes
This seems deeply odd. My organization can readily produce a list of hotels where we have an account. Social Services isnโt just going on Expedia and certainly not at any hotel. They must have accounts that are for approved-use hotels.

You want students to pay for the results of educational underfunding. The things that used to cause students to fail - undiagnosed learning disabilities, unrecognized sexual abuse or social disruption - are addressed by expert supports like counselors and extra supports.
@SaskTeachersFed
Time to up the ante. No one wants a strike. The lunch hour breaks were disruptive enough they caused the govt to back down. This needs a response.

Israel is starving children to death. Itโs hard to believe from a country many of us supported but thereโs too many reports from too many good people to deny it. The WHO says they need 500 trucks of supplies per day and are getting 85. Canada needs to stand on the right side.
