CEO Chris Anzalone calls LDL cholesterol a "toxin." There's a lot of money up for grabs for companies that figure out the best means of reducing that toxin. My recent A1 story examines the cholesterol and lipids space -- everything from PCSK9 and CETP to Lp(a).

The biggest challenge for us was not having any help. We don’t live near any family, but have lots of friends who would have happily helped. We were lucky to have lots of meals dropped off, but no one to hold the babies so we could both sleep.
@sarahradz_
This sounds like a nightmare. My kids are starting preschool and they have OPINIONS about their clothes. There's no way I'm going to be able to talk them into wearing a specific color, outfit or theme.
@realgirl_fieri
How little time you spend actually sitting. There are constant requests for snacks and help finding lost toys, drawing something specific or reading a book. If you have multiple kids, you spend a lot of time on your feet breaking up fights. And, when you do sit, it's never alone
@clhubes
I knew someone who had two younger adopted brothers. He kept asking his parents when they were going to take his new brother back to the airport. 😂
My husband and I finished our quarantine project today. Aubrey Parker weighs 5 pounds and 15 ounces. Oliver William weighs 7 pounds. They were born three minutes apart after a 52-hour induction. We are so thankful, exhausted and in love.
A year ago, $MRNA didn’t have a commercial product, it wasn’t profitable and its stock was valued at less than a third of what it is today. Now, it’s joining the S&P 500. Can we all take a moment to marvel at how wild the biotech sector is?
@clhubes
I told my twins once that they’d accomplish more if they worked together instead of fighting one another. I found them later after they’d pulled their Nugget couch over to the dresser. One was holding it while the other climbed. 🤦♀️
@clhubes
This is obviously not one of the dozen people who laughed and then cheered when I finally caught my shoeless and maniacally giggling 3 year old at a brewery yesterday.
@sewistwrites
They never stop talking. NEVER. I can't believe I ever worried about my 3 year olds' language development. It's like a nonstop Gilmore Girls episode up in here, except their references are Frozen and Cars, and they don't need coffee for energy.
@realgirl_fieri
My mother-in-law is in town right now and, I've gotta say, I wish we could keep her. She's not exactly the "young, energetic, healthy" grandparent you described, but she's holding her own really well with two 3 year olds.
@AmyGDalaMD
And, if you're there for babies, there's a fair amount of screaming involved. How am I supposed to remember the questions I need to ask when holding two screaming infants?
Casgevy, the $CRSP and $VRTX gene-editing treatment for sickle cell disease, also just gained FDA approval for beta thalassemia patients. The approval comes roughly two months ahead of expectations.
@CartoonsHateHer
Heh. I've had the same thought watching influencer videos of kids' rooms. "There's no way that's a kid's room. I don't see a single sticker." (One of my kids has covered her bed and dresser in about a hundred dinosaur and Grumpy Monkey stickers.)
@clhubes
My pug is so weird that I only want to add to the weirdness in our house. But, also, I have two matching cats (litter mates) and human twins. I have no bandwidth to keep anything else alive. That said, if I was up for another dog, I'd want another weird burrito-shaped creature.
@sonikudzu
I was also a perfect parent in my head before I actually became a parent.
As a millennial, my kids get VERY limited screen time. But I won’t judge what other people do to survive toddlers.
@AshleyGWinter
This is the hardest part. I promise it gets better. I remember the first time our twins slept five hours straight. I felt like an entirely new person.
Our twins are a month old today. Coincidentally, my husband and I haven’t slept more than two hours continuously in a month. It’s a good thing they’re ridiculously cute.
Panelist James Hildreth says it's important to be honest about the true risk of Covid. Estimates suggest 70% of children, 35 million, have gotten Covid. There have been 637 deaths in children 0-11. "Clearly, some kids get infected and do just fine."
@kevinmnye1
I remember the outlandish bill when our twins were born. A friend suggested we hold off paying because, "what are they going to do? Repo one of your kids?" As it turned out, all the bills for my high-risk pregnancy had satisfied our deductible and what we owed was much lower.
A disgruntled reader just told me my "intention is to harm Pfizer's reputation with lies." Guys, I promise my biggest intention in life is to binge watch sitcoms with a pint of ice cream after putting the twins to bed.
$ARWR just inked a deal with $GSK for a potential NASH drug. The deal could be worth up to $1 billion in payments, including $120 million up front and $910 million in milestones.

I was unprepared for how little time I get to spend actually sitting. There’s no way I can settle with a book and my coffee without that time getting punctuated by requests for snacks, “play with me,” helping in the bathroom or finding a lost toy/book/jacket. I often wonder why
@Theresa_Chapple
I also wonder about that. A friend of mine had Covid recently and her case was so mild that if she hadn't been testing frequently she would have chalked it up to the stress of moving.
@HirokoTabuchi
My husband and I (also in our 30s) also struggled with infertility for two years. We were given a less than 10% chance after extensive, expensive and painful testing. Our twins will be 13 months tomorrow.
My newest A1 published just moments ago examines new developments in M&A as the FTC looks to block $AMGN's takeover of $HZNP. Small molecule deals are popular, but one expert says a platform deal could be coming.
Today is Twin A's helmet graduation day! He was in two helmets over eight months for severe plagiocephaly and brachycephaly (flat and asymmetrical head). This was a huge time and financial commitment. It's such a relief to be done!
$ABBV is down 10% after the FDA said makers of JAK inhibitors must add warnings of heart conditions, blood clots, cancer and death to their labels. This also impacts $PFE and $LLY. This doesn't pertain to drugs from $INCY and $BMY, however.

Thanks to an eagle-eyed reader, this story has been corrected to reflect $ARWR is looking into an adipose-targeting treatment for obesity, rather than a muscle-targeting treatment.

Meal prep. I froze crockpot meals before my babies were born. We had a dozen gallon-sized bags in our freezer. Each one made enough for two adults to have two to three meals. That, alongside a meal train, meant we didn't have to prepare anything from scratch for three months.
$TGTX grabbed a double-digit gain after a Cantor analyst says its MS drug Briumvi experienced a "solid jump" in March sales. He expects the company to beat first-quarter sales projections.

This attitude ignores an emerging theory that people have individual "thermostats," or weights at which their body most comfortably operates. For some people, that thermostat has a higher setting. (This is from interviews with researchers for stories I've written on GLP-1s.)
