A society that flaunts and promotes luxury in the midst of poverty will surely be a society where crime is prevalent.
If we were all given the chance to live well, wealth shared fairly, recognising that not all fingers are equal, more people will not resort to a life of crime.

How I spent close to 6K cedis on my small intimate white wedding.
This thread is for only people who want to downsize and have a simpler wedding, for the intimacy, or to save money or both.
And this is how I did mine, not everything will work for you but you can apply sth.
Our biggest flex getting married was spending close to 6k on our white wedding, Covid-19 reducing our 50 guests plan to 20 including us, being blessed n gifted a small luncheon with our close friends and family, I can remember everyone who was there.

Accra's standard of living is so high like a developed country's, the difference is we don't get the benefits of a developed country, and the average Ghanaian doesn't get to earn enough money to live.

1. Transportation is killer, use a bus sometimes, take a loading taxi instead of Uber, if you have a car, sometimes park it, and use Uber or public transport, especially if you're going somewhere you can easily go with public transport.
Everywhere outside your house is tiled, no earth, no dirt, no trees, where do you think the water will go when the rains come when the earth is not there to soak it up.

Looks like Ghana has become the best place to stay for only Politicians, rich people, Expats n Foreigners.
You discover a nice clothing brand, that recycles clothes from Kantanmantu, and makes nice designs, and it's priced in Euros or dollars. Is there any left for we Ghanaians?
There's no point in sharing relationship advice these days, let everyone figure it out for themselves. Some things are standard, others are not, so chale mind your business and enjoy your own tin before you are insulted on this app.
People like this will dismiss your valid reaction and say, "It's just food," like you're some glutton or selfish person who doesn't want to share.
They never take accountability for their lack of common sense, entitlement, and laziness.

I know he is also doing this as an act of solidarity, cos I wasn't too happy eating alone too, but it just warms my heart how much you get used to someone and they become part of your life/routine and you really like them.

If you can afford an expensive wedding, where you won't go bankrupt, or if your family can, then go ahead, nothing wrong with it.

I was eager to take the challenge n it saved me lots of money. For people who can't bake a cake, you can have a baker make a simple rustic cake, but don't say it's for a wedding, once you mention wedding, price ๐
No one can cancel Bread ๐ ๐ Not even Bread made in a Bread Maker for people who have zero Baking skills and for burnt out bakers like me.

If your partner is pushing for an extravagant wedding they are not ready to take care of, good luck to your relationship man, there's no winning here.

One thing I'll advise is also advertise your wedding. Tell your friends, your parents' friends, suggest to them to give gifts in cash via momo, that's how you make a profit. ๐
We are still in a pandemic, it's a good excuse to have a small wedding n let everyone else join online.

This is why our generation is screwed because the opportunity to build something in your youth has been greatly reduced.
Literally living hand to mouth in a very expensive world.
You can be broke at any time but when you are older and broke, it is much worse. You can't just do anything to make money and can't learn new things. As you get older, what you depend upon is the foundation you built in your youth. This is why wasting your youth isn't advisable.
