We have collected these current opportunities for the academic year 2023-2024 👇🏽🧵
Questo pezzo del
@Corriere

I love this paper! First study showing intergenerational effects of receiving school meals in India.
We knew already that school meals were good for the kids, but did not know that they were also good for the next generation!
In
#India
, 46% of girls aged 6-10 participate in

New
@Nature
study finds *intergenerational* effects:
children with mothers receiving MDM in the past have lower stunting (by 0.4 SD) than those with moms who didn’t.

How do
#inequalities
in height by children's backgrounds evolve from early childhood to adulthood?
Our new paper
@JHealthEcon
responds to this question!
Gaps between low- and high-SES children in LMICs rise during childhood up to puberty, in a inverted U-shaped pattern (1/n)
New paper hot of the press!
Ghana's schools, as in many other LMICs, closed for 10mo in 2020.
What did kids do when schools were closed? Did kids from private and public schools had similar remote learning opportunities? And what happened to learning? (1/N)
It was really great to connect with this wonderful group of development economists last week
@ubeconomics
! here some snippets of their exciting research and what happened on day 2 of our workshop (1/n)
Interesting new paper - What does history about reducing Infant Mortality in high-income countries can teach us? Structural interventions (e.g. WASH, birth registries etc) were central to IM decline in the US, yet focus in LMICs is mostly on household determinants
It was so fun to attend

New paper out! 👇🥳
We use data from a large sample of
#LMICs
to show new evidence on how
#inequalities
in
#height
by socioeconomic status develop from early childhood to young adulthood (1/n)
We worked with the govt of Ghana to expand its local school meals program to the country's poorest districts. School meals at scale increase learning, esp. for poorest and girls, and improve stunting for poorest in the 5-8 age range and girls.
🆕 study shows school meal programs can support equitable learning, improved health and earnings, especially for vulnerable groups
